Question Why Won't Kmart, And Sears Let You Put A HDTV On Layaway?

With the credit crunch, and everyting else going on in the financial world, doesn't this make sense to the retail stores?

First of all it would take the business away from the Blue Hippo type places, that over charge you anyways. They could also take business away from Renta Center, they suck too!

If Kmart, and Sears did this, it would be a good thing yes?
If the person doesn't pay it off, they can keep the money, and resell the TV. So why don't they offer this?

I did not do it tho, and purchased my set from another store.... just yesterday...

I thought he was talking about farming equipment, like a Caterpillar on lay-away.

Maybe SEARS and KMART doesn't want to have a bunch of merchandise stored in a room somewhere taking up space waiting for someone to pay for it.

If Sears and KMart don't allow layaway on HDTV's, I think it would be a good business decision to do so.

The latest Best Buy financing is 3 years 0% interest. Why would you want to put an HDTV on layaway someplace if you could get it from Best Buy and be watching the TV the same day ?

I believe the people that would choose layaway can't qualify for the credit you describe.

Sears Layaway Program

If you are asking why? Because they don't want to. You don't like that? Go shop at some other store.

Personally, I'm too much of a diva to wait for purchases, so I didn't post this thread for me.

If I don't have the cash on hand, I simply don't buy it. A friend of mine told me about all the charges he incurred in buying a computer through Blue Hippo, they straight up raped him.

Sears, and Kmart are the biggest retailers. So I asked the question of the members of this forum. It's as simple as that!

What did he wind up paying for a $150 outdated E-machine, About a G note.. PS.. Did he get the free 19'' LCD and piece af shit 1 mp camera that tossed in o the deal at least?? I gonna go barf now. Friends don't let friends order from any color hippo place.

I totally agree with you Big, he didn't think he had any other options. His divorce really messed up his credit.

For those who want a HDTV, this seems like a good place to get one.
