Default Panasonic g10 break in problem

Hey I own the 42 inch g10, I have a quick question about break in settings

Im 87 hours into my break in, and I've been using almost entirely the THX mode. I figured this was fine until earlier today I read that I should be using thx mode, but with contrast brought down to 50 for break in instead of the default 100. I've just been using the default 100 for the past 87 hours. I'm not using any slides, just watching tv normally.

Should I be worried? Have I damaged my display or compromised it's ability to display colors accuratley? How will this effect phosphor trails?

Thanks

No you haven't damaged your TV.

I ran colored slides, but I also set my contrast and brightness to 90. This helps the phosphors age in more quickly, but there is a greater risk of burn-in. I was careful and experienced no problems. If you have no burn-in now, you can always turn down your settings and continue as you are.

No worries, the only way you could possibly ruin you plasma is run it in Vivid mode for the first 100-200 hours. Keep it in full screen and don't have side bars until you reach 200 hours.

This is what I'm doing right now with my 500M. It's been about 43 hours straight on torch mode with the slides. This is means to get past the break-in period quickly. It won't neccessarily prevent IR or burn-in. It's a good idea if you are planning to get the display calibrated right after or if using some suggested reference settings. You have to exercise some caution when doing this, as a menu screen or any still image could permanently burn into your plasma if your DVD player froze up, but if you haven't expereinced burn-in so far, you're fine. You could always download a break-in disc/SD files to run while you are sleeping. This way, you can get past the break-in period much faster. If you don't plan to get your set professionally calibrated, i wouldn't worry about it, just keep settings at the halfway point and watch full screen material for the first couple hundred hours to be on the safe side.
