Shows your lack of intelligence level. Must be a Republican. You probably think Bush Jr. was the greatest president we ever had.

Don't need to be assessing others intelligence level. Loves has shown plenty of intelligence in his posts. Don't confuse intelligence with ideology beliefs.

Something is wrong when scientists say that every virtually every weather situation is because of "global warming". They claim if it is hotter than normal it is global warming. If it is colder than normal they say it is due to global warming also. They say if it is wetter than normal it is global warming, but also if it is dryer than normal it is because of global warming too. They say if we get less snow it is global warming, but lo and behold they make the same claim if it snows more also. Just the fact that they claim ANY weather phenomenon is caused by global warming tells me that they are full of you know what. These scientists are working off of grants and so if they want to keep getting the money they must find a way to keep finding a way to justify that grant money each year. ![]() In Europe the gov'ts have used "global warming" as an excuse to tax the citizens ridiculous taxes and it seems these people bought it hook line & sinker. Why does it cost about 4x the money for gas there? Because they want to get the tax money and global warming is the bogey man to get that revenue. Is it getting warmer on this planet? In some places yes, but in my area of the Northeast it has been cooler over the last decade on average. Also consider that the planet evolves whether humans are on this planet or not and has done so even before people were on this planet and also got warmer even before man had electricity and burned fossil fuels. How do they account for this? Now I agree that it is a good idea to save money by not using more power than necessary and simply turning off one light/lamp will pretty much offset the energy cost difference of getting the unquestionable superior PQ of plasma over LCDs. In fact much more money is saved by choosing plasma over LCD because for same screen sizes plasmas are cheaper than a comparable size LCD alone so it is actually cheaper in the long run to buy plasmas even if you don't turn off one light/lamp to offset the energy cost difference. Next they will be telling everyone to buy smaller TVs because of global warming and will expect people viewing 15 feet away to get a 22" TV for "the cause". ![]() I only drive around 3,000 miles per year with my car so I am already doing much more than my share to lower MY "carbon footprint". How many miles do YOU drive a year? Pollution from autos is THE number 1 pollutant into our atmosphere and they say the single biggest possible cause of "global warming". They want to help lower the carbon footprint world wide? Stop letting China be excluded from having limits with any agreement like the fatally flawed Kyoto Accord. Since they are the #2 polluter and are expected to be the #1 polluter within the next 4-5 years, it is totally ridiculous that they can be excluded from any such limits if they REALLY want to lower emissions.

Just because this might inconvenience him somewhat, or more likely it might cost him more (the real issue), that doesn't mean it is hogwash. Attitudes as that that have the narrow minded, selfish, self centered, with the 'what's in it for me' mentality behind it and only add to the problem. Just because he lives where the temperature dropped below the so called 'norm' for a few days doesn't mean his warped opinion holds any water.

To get this thread back on topic. I think we all agree that LCD/LED ownership has some advantages....bright room enviroment, slightly less power consumption, plug and play ease of ownership.
Plasmas excel for videophiles that strive to get "the best" out of the video viewing experience. All agree say aye... All oppose say nay........

AYE. Except that I would argue that the current plasmas still beat LCDs out of the box.
