How can anyone watch standard def?

I had an Aquos TV for about 6 months. Recently I noticed it had a stuck pixel near the center of the screen.
Sharp kindly agreed to replace the TV for me. They came today with the new set but it also had one stuck pixel in almost the same place. I am likely to get a refund now but I have also lost faith the the technology. I thought stuck pixels were very rare. Can anyone recommend be a brand or will that make any difference? Am I just unlucky? Thank you. |

Most complaints about stuck pixels like yours are becoming rare, that is true. There are some 'fixes' that sometimes work. You can try those.
I think there is a recent thread on that..maybe someone remembers. I can not speak to the effectiveness of this one: http://www.jscreenfix.com/

You might consider switching to Plasma.......Pioneer specifically.....

Over the years I have purchased 8 HD (plasma & LCD) TVs and numerous LCD monitors. I have not ever had a stuck or dead pixel in any of them. So, I'd say "Yes, it is possible."
Oh, BTW, none of the TVs were a Sony. |

Guess I was just unlucky then. Seems odd though. If the 3rd replacement is the same I won't know what to think anymore though. |

Maybe it's a brand problem rather than a technology problem.

I agree, I always thought it was a rare problem.

I've never had an LCD monitor or TV with a stuck pixel, except after when I hit my old laptop's screen with something, and I had a couple stuck black ones in the lower right corner. My Sharp LC37D40U has been a great TV, no stuck pixels and not a single problem.

Got another replacement (3rd one now) (different model)
It too had 1 stuck pixel. Getting replacement again. I will post when I eventually get a good one. I thought it was rare to get a stuck pixel, now I'm thinking it's rare to get a TV without one. Last edited by ou01125; 11-06-2009 at 10:01 PM. |

Maybe it is time to try to get a refund and go with a different brand or tech.
