For an upcoming trip to the northeast and down the east coast a ways, I'm attempting to setup Dish Satellite (DS). It was suggested here on rv.net to use the eastern arc.

I have purchased the 211K, 1000.4 antenna, tv4rv tripod and 50' of rg6 coax. The 211 and antenna (antenna was assembled with 1 coax coming out of the arm) were purchased locally here in Round Rock, TX.

The guy at the store setup the 211 on a western arc antenna.
At home, I set up everything in the rv using existing satellite connection. Found a eastern signal, program guide downloaded and then dropped signal. After that, I could not get a signal.

I repositioned the antenna, directly wired the coax between the 211 and antenna. Got another 5 bar signal, downloaded programing, dropped signal.

Also, I took off the LNB to see which connector the coax was connected to. It was connected to #3 connector (third connector from the left).

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
The dish tech said I need to move the dish to HD sats, they are in the clear to the left. Dish-network said they can only do it if I sign up for a contract. I do not want a contract I have been a customer for 15 years. Does anyone out there know what parts I need to make this happen? Info about these HD sats would be appreciated. where are the best places to buy parts? I did install the current system.

What happened to Hopper auto tune function on movie channels?

I think a recent (very recent) software update broke something that was working fairly well. I often use the auto tune feature when I see a favorite show or movie starting in a while, I'll set it and continue watching something else until it automatically switches to the desired show.

This morning I went to set it to auto tune to a movie and I now only have two choices. Record this, or more info. If you go to a lower numbered channel such as a recurring show or series, you get the familiar Record Series Timer with the auto tune function.

Maybe they are trying to keep you from filling up your DVR with 200 copies of the same movie but I never had a problem with that before.

Any idea of how you can do the auto tune function with the new software update? Or was I wrong?
