I was thinking some where between 100" and 110". Because of the layout I have to use - I pretty much am forced to use a fixed type screen. But beyond that - I'm open to typical manufactured screens, DIY screens, etc. The budget is tight so cost effectiveness is critical (but best quality possible...impossible?)

The room is not a dedicated theater room - so ambient light is a factor and not completely controllable. Content will be mostly movies.

Thanks!

Now either the GTX 690 sold a pifflingly small amount (quite possibly) or the GTX Titan has been better received than even Nvidia thought.

According to Nvidia, it’s the latter.

I had a chat with Ben Berraondo, the senior PR manager for GeForce, about the GTX Titan earlier this week. “Even we were surprised just how popular the Titan was. And still is,” he said. “Titan sold a lot more than the GTX 690, for example. It’s still selling very well.”

In today’s high-tech age, computer as an important invention in the 20th century has been widely used in various fields. For parents, they should never underestimate the importance of keeping their children safe during the time that they spend online.Keylogger software presents one of the most realistic and practical monitoring solutions. It is almost as effective as standing right behind the person using your computer and looking over their shoulder. You will be provided with a full text and visual history of absolutely every activity that the computer was used for while you were away. From websites visited to chatting messages sent, you will be able to see everything in the logs that the program records when it is activated. This makes it extremely effective for monitoring children during their time spent on the Web. If they are managing to circumvent parental controls, watch inappropriate content or anything else unsuitable, you will soon know about it.

Children are not the only ones who should be monitored while using the computer. Keylogger is a great tool not just for helping to keep children safe online, but also for keeping an eye on anyone else using your computer. Provided you install and use the product only on computers that you own, you can monitor anyone you like without restrictions. For example, keylogger presents a perfect way of catching out a cheating spouse. If you suspect your spouse is using the Internet to keep in contact with a member of the opposite sex, you will quickly find out about it by using this software. You will know what they are up to whenever they are sat in front of the computer screen.
In the workplace, keylogger is also a powerful tool to use. Companies spend huge amount of money on IT resources and the staff to man them. To ensure that things are kept running smoothly and that this money is not going to waste, you should always keep a close eye on operations. Keylogger can be installed on work computers to help ensure that your staff are using the company's computing resources responsibly and appropriately. If they are spending their time on non-work-related tasks such as playing video games or just randomly surfing the Web, it will let you know about it. Another useful function of the keylogger software is that it can alert you to problems such as information leak, allowing you to deal with them before they go out of control.

Summary: This guide is going to tell you how to rip DVD movies to Nook HD with mp4 video format step by step, and play DVD on Nook HD tablet anytime anywhere.

Barnes & Noble Nook HD Tablet features a brilliant HD display which brings your entertainment to life in stunning clarity on a vibrant 1440-by-900 spectacular high-resolution display. With over one million pixels in your hand, text is sharper, gameplay is smooth and dynamic and much more – HD movies are more vivid. If you have some DVD movie collections and want to watch DVD movies on Nook HD Tablet, you’ll need to convert DVD to Nook HD Tablet supported H.264 or MPEG4 first. Here I would throw a quick tutorial up.

To get the work done smoothly, a DVD ripping tool is needed. Most of you are likely familiar with the excellent Handbrake for ripping standard Def DVDs, but keep in mind that that program can’t rip copy-protected DVDs without a third-party add-on, and it doesn’t have Nook-specific profiles. Here I highly recommend Brorsoft DVD Ripper or the Mac DVD Ripper for Mac users.

Basically, the software can help you encode DVD also DVD ISO/IFO to Nook HD tablet highly supported MP4 video files with high output video quality and fast ripping speed. Besides, you are allowed to edit the DVD movies by trimming, cropping, adjusting video effects, etc. to get the very wanted part and effects as you like. Moreover, this DVD converter can also help you convert DVD to all other popular video formats like AVI, MOV, MKV, WMV, FLV, MPG, etc. for playing and sharing on iPhone, iPad, Galaxy S4, Blackberry, Apple TV, Nexus 7, YouTube etc. bypassing the DVD copy protection. Just download it and follow the steps below to download and put DVD movies onto Nook HD Tablet for smooth playing.

The Easy Way to Convert DVD movies to Nook HD compatible video formats

1. Import DVD movie source

Download and install the DVD Ripper for Nook HD Tablet. Once the program is installed, start it up and pop in your disc to load your DVD movies. You can also add ISO file, IFO file or DVD folder.

2. Output video settings

Now choose the output format for playback on your Nook HD Tablet. You can get optimized videos for Nook HD under Format > Android > Nook Tablet(*.mp4). The output videos could fit on your device perfectly. You can click on "Settings" to set Video Size(pix) as 720*480, Video Bitrate(kbps) as 1500 to get a HD and relatively small output video.

3. Start to convert DVD to Nook HD mp4 video

Before the conversion, you can click on the dropdown list of “Subtitles” to select your needed subtitles so that you can view DVD films on Nook HD Tablet with preferred subtitles. Then, hit “Convert” and let the software do the DVD to Nook HD MP4 conversion.

After the ripping, you can click “Open” to locate the converted MP4 video files. Connect your NOOK to a computer, and transfer the DVD rips to the NOOK HD Video folder for playing in full screen playback at ease.

P.S. To play all the HD videos, Blu-ray/DVD movies on Nook HD Tablet as well as Kindle Fire HD, Apple iPad, Galaxy Tab, Nexus 7, etc freely, you can try the professional all-in-one program Blu-ray Video Converter Ultimate to make the conversion task. If you a Mac user, iMedia Converter Mac is the alternative choice.
It looks like Telecom magnate Carlos Slim has lost his grip on the world's richest person title.
And, who to fill his shoes? None other than Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
With a $72.7 billion fortune, Gates is now $550 million ahead of Slim (who has a net worth of $72.1 billion), according to Bloomberg. This is the first time Gates has earned the biggest billionaire status since 2007.
Gates has seen his fortune grow about $10 billion over the past few months, according to Bloomberg. The increase came not so much from Microsoft stock -- only a quarter of Gate's fortune in invested in Microsoft -- but rather from other financial holdings and private investments.
While Gates has a $72.7 billion fortune, he has donated more than $28 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which works on the eradication of polio, malaria, and other dangerous diseases.

It is nice to see one of the richest people in the world give so much back to those in need. The article also goes on to say that Carlos Slim may see his fortune even further decline as the Mexican government is about to pass a law that would prohibit a company from owning more than 50% of the market. Slim's telecom company currently owns over 70% of the mobile market and 80% of the landline market.

Never was a fan of Slim, but then again I think all Mexicans with a lot of money are corrupt bastards.... :)

EA has announced it will discontinue its Online Pass program. "Yes, we're discontinuing Online Pass," EA's senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg told GamesBeat in an e-mail. "None of our new EA titles will include that feature."

Reseburg added that "many players didn't respond to the format," despite EA going on record months after instituting Online Passes, reporting it had not seen a "significant" backlash. "We've listened to the feedback and decided to do away with it moving forward."

The Online Pass, a one-time use code required for online play, was first introduced in 2010 with the intent of being exclusive to EA Sports games, though it quickly escalated from there. Online Pass revenue generated between $10-$15 million for EA in its first year alone.
