I'm just moving into a new (old) house, and I think I'll be going U-Verse for TV and Internet service. The house was owned by older people and had only one cable connection in the house, coming up through the floor in the corner of the living room. There are two telepone jacks, one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen on the wall.

Ideally I'd like to have a main TV area in the family room, an office with my desktop with a wired connection to the modem, TV connections in the other two bedrooms and possibly a TV connection in the kitchen and/or the living room. Most of that stuff is down the road, for now I need the main TV, Office and two bedrooms wired.

What is the typical way that U-Verse is installed? Is there one main box that is the TV reciever and modem or are they separate? How is it all distributed throughout the house? Ethernet or Coax connections? Either way, I'd like to do it right and install jacks in the wall in appropriate locations. Will the U-Verse tech do this or will he just want to pull it though the floor like Bright House did? If he won't do jacks in the wall, I'll wire it up before I set up the appointment, but I need to know a general "schematic" of how everything is going to flow. (Split in the basement, or at the main box in the TV room, etc.)

Thanks for any help you can provide. By the way, it's a Ranch with an unfinished basement and pretty good attic access.

Seinfeld is easily the best sitcom ever made. Nine seasons of pure entertainment. I myself have re-watched every episode at lest four times.

It's a different kind of show. For once you can't see sadness on the show. You can see joy and happiness but not sadness. Well for the exception of the "Bubble Boy" episode where Elaine cries when Bubble Boy's father is asking Jerry to come and visit his

son.

Jerry's part is great! He's the one doing the sarcastic and humorous remarks.

Kramer is the one doing the "cartoonish" part. Always doing funny sounds and funny poses.

George has the best part. Brilliant. A short stocky and cheap man with no regard to anyone but himself. His fiancée dies and the next days he calls another woman for a date! Elaine's maybe the less funny part. Amazing non the less. A man's woman who

dates Jerry in the past and dances funny ("The Little Kicks")

Favourite episodes (and quotes): "The Butter Shave" (a vacation to Marseilles)
"The Contest" ("You'll be out before we get the check.)
"The Outing" ("I'm not Gay Not there's anything wrong about it")

Between many many others!

I have Att U-verse as my cable provider. I am hard of hearing and had a wireless set up for head phones so I could hear without waking the entire house at night. It was a Sony infrared system and worked great. My old tv went bad and I bought a new Panasonic TC-P42S1 to replace it. It's a plasma tv. I did not know that my infrared system would not work because of the interference from the plasma. So I hooked up a component cable to the ATT reciever (audio out) and then to a Y connector with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a cheap set of head phones, then I turn off the tv speakers. This works but does not have enough volume for me to hear as well as the other set up. What is available to increase the volume of this setup or is there a better alternative?
Thanks,
:helpme

The Scheduled DVR listing is an hour off. Is this because of DST? If I select something from the guide to record, it actually records the show that's on a hour before what I selected.

I tried it the other night. I wanted to record Cops (8:00 pm). I selected it to record. When I got home, it was recording Malcolm in the Middle @ 7:00 pm instead. Does AT&T need to update the app?

I found something else strange. If I'm in the Guide, and select a program. It shows the information for the show that's on an hour earlier.

Example: @ 4:00pm Dr. Phil comes on. If I tap on Dr. Phil, it give me the info for Judge Judy which comes on @ 3:00 pm. If I select Judge Judy, it give me the info for Rachel Ray (which I assume comes on @ 2:00 pm).

Me and my neighbor were scheduled for install this past Sat. The first tech came out and said everything is ok, the next tech will install the lines in the house. The next tech comes 1.5 hours later and says "oops, you only have 26 ga. wire from the VRAD. I will get someone out Monday to run 22 ga. to the small box in between our yards. 3 hours later a guy in a big bucket truck comes out and says we only have 26 ga. line, which we already knew, and that we can't get service because it provides 3600 down and only 1.0 up. Sorry, but AT&T will not run 22 ga. from the VRAD because it would be cost prohibitive. A guy 5 houses down has U-Verse. They ran a 'drop', or three spans of 22 ga on the poles to his yard, then to the house they used the remaining 26 ga. The guy says his boss wouldn't let him run ours on the poles. This doesn't make sense. We are under a half mile from the VRAD and the line is upgraded to 5 houses down. That is, if they ran more than one service to his pole. The tech says that was temporary. Doesn't that mean they plan to send someone to bury it later? Anybody have any ideas?

When choosing to buy a networked blu-ray player, one finds WiFi units cost substaintialy more than ethernet wired versions. My Uverse system is internet and TV service and I discovered the STB provides the needed ethernet port on the back right next to my HDTV.

My LG BD370 plugged in and setup was almost immediate. Netflix streaming SD is very acceptable, and HD is stunning. With the Fry's sale pricing I saved over $130 over a WiFi unit.

Newbie here.... I have a Uverse Mot.VIP1200 box and Hauppauge HVR-950Q Hybrid TV Stick (USB input) for my computer. Computer has an internal blu-ray player, and HDMI 1080p 23" monitor (getting beautiful HD from the blu-ray) so I know my equipment is all HD capable. The problem is the lousy picture (SD, or HD) from the STB. (Just to coverall issues... I do have HD service from Uverse.)

Uverse tech came out and advised using component cables to the TV Stick's coax input with an adapter...... Is there such a thing? I tried wadding through the forums and couldn't quite get an answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there is, would that help my fuzzy picture?

I would prefer to have them not use the current cable because of how old the house is. Also, I currently have hsi with Charter Cable and might want to keep it. But, if the U-verse doesn't work out, I don't want to be without internet if they use the current cable.
Hope this makes sense.
