Yesterday a problem came up with our DVR, which is the 6416 hooked up to a Samsung TV via component cables. I tried searching this site for a similar problem but the search didn't find any results, so forgive me if this has been asked and answered before.

It happened before I got home from work, so I am going off of what my wife said. She was trying to watch an episode of House off of the DVR and when she hit PLAY the screen went blank and the TV said "weak or no signal". I had her make sure that the TV wa on the correct inputs which it was and she said she power cycled the DVR a few times and nothing helped. When I got home I checked and it was still "weak or no signal" so I unplugged the DVR and went and ate dinner. Plugged it back in after dinner and it worked as it should until she tried to watch House again off the DVR and the same thing happened but I was at the GYM so again I didn't wittness it. But my wife unplugged the DVR and plugged it back in after a little bit and it worked like it should.

What I am hopeing is that this is just an isolated problem with this particular episode and that the HD in the DVR isn't going out. So any insight would be greatly apprecieated.

Hello,

I have an older Sony receiver that does not support HDMI, so I'm running HDMI directly from the Motorola HD DVR to my HD television. I also have surround sound speakers running from my receiver. Can I connect the Motorola DVR to my receiver via an optical audio cable to get sound? If so, are there any special settings on the DVR that I need to set?

Basically, I'd like to continue using HDMI for video and optical for audio, going through my receiver.

Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks.

I think it has potential , and $10 a month for around 130 HD movies on demand is a pretty good deal. The only problem I had was that none of the movies had Dolby Digital 5.1. Maybe they are only going to offer this to their subscribers. Any thoughts?

After being a loyal fios fan, it's over. It started with a threat to terminate my service for not paying over charges that they admitted were wrong. This just happened to coincide with my 1 year anniversary. To reward me for being a loyal costumer, they proceeded to raise my bill by $25+. After a heated discussion, I told them to shut it down. No sooner do I hang up, it's all off. Phone, internet and tv. They even shut down my email account. I had to transfer everything to a new one which wasn't difficult.

I think verizon has the best product for the money for the first year.
After that it's not worth the money or the insult of being treated as a replaceable source of revenue.

Good luck to the rest of you.
