If you enjoy the series, I highly recommend this episode BTW. David Tennant as the Doc. One hour long. Great PQ/ good SQ. We use Netflix.

Hello,
I wanted to ask a question that bothers me according to HD media.
lately, when i download a film that is specified as HD resolution, when i come to view it, it turns out to be much shorter then the specified resolution.

For example, a movie labeled '720p' comes across as only 534 pixels high, when '1080p' movies are only 800 pixels tall!

How should i view these movies?
Seems as if somebody tries to take advantage of the black stripes we used to see at 4:3 screens when we played back 16:9 media,
but here this is not the issue!

Can someone explain?

Thanks alot!

My receiver only has one optical input and I'd like to get a digital signal from my xbox and cable box. I looked at the manual switches but they didn't seem too reliable. I'd rather not buy an electrical one either. I ended up buying a female-female coupler and was wondering how much it may affect the audio signal. I'm going to leave one wire in my receiver and switch between my devices as necessary. I guess I'll find out when I receive it but I'd like to know what other's opinions are on it. I'm not a big audiophile, I'd just like to get 5.1 digital out of each device.

I have similar choices for SPDIF, whatever that is, and again I've selected DTS-Re_encode.

I'm thinking Primary-Pass thru would be a beter choice. What say you?

So that's the one I'm thinking of getting but I wondered something from those who have it. Does the xbox send audio through HDMI AND RCA at the same time or will I need to constantly be switching back and fourth. I only want to use these headsets at night to play things like Modern Warfare while my wife is sleeping.

I've hardly been able to do MP on my 360 because she wakes up at 5am and I feel bad making a ton of noise and as you all know FPS's and such are hard to play at low volumes because sound is so vital.

At worst, my guess is I can leave the HDMI hooked up and the headsets hooked up and just tell the xbox to output to RCA when I want to use the headsets, and output to HDMI when I want my reciever on. Does that makes sense or is it more of a hassle than that, or easier?
