HD Receiver & TV in separate rooms

I want to install my HD receivers in a central equipment closet, and run the HD signals to the TVs in rooms throughout the house. The existing wiring is (2) RG-6 and (2) Cat-5e cables to each TV location.

My biggest question is how do I use the existing RG6 cables to run the HD signal. Or do I need to use the CAT5 cables instead? I understand there may be a device that connects to the output of the receiver which changes the HD signal, and then a corresponding device just before the TV that converts it back to an HD signal that the TV can use?

Thanks in advance for the advice -- I'm new to this sort of thing. I know what I want to accomplish, but not how to get there!

The coax cables to not carry the HD signals out from the receiver. You need to use either HDMI or Component cables.

You can buy an adapter to convert hdmi to dual cat5 from newegg.com. Unfortunately, the adapters are over 20 bucks and you would need two for each hdtv. Also, you would need two short lengths of HDMI cable per hdtv, which can add up. You might be better off running solid hdmi to each tv.

Gary: What is the pratical length for HDMI cables to 2nd HiDef set? My garage TV conked out, so I bought a HDTV and hooked up OTA. It sure would be nice to watch Big10 games out there this fall.

HD PVR Plus comes with two HD satellite tuners built in, allowing users to watch one program while recording another, and it can also act as two discrete satellite receivers, one feeding the HDTV in your home theater and the other feeding the rest of your house.

First, Dish doesn't have a HD PVR plus in the US. Second with any dual output Dish HD receiver, the second output is SD unless you want to watch the same channel at the same time (connect 1 TV via HDMI and the other via component).

A little Googleing reveals the HD PVR Plus is the Dish Network 722.

Been around 2 years+.
