Default Remote Addressing Question

I am trying to address the Dish remote AUX mode for a Yamaha A/V receiver. I currently have a 722k satellite receiver and a Dish 6.3 remote. I am reading instructions that indicate to first address the TV mode to 222 before programming the AUX mode. There is a note that states “addressing the remote to 222 while in TV, VCR, or AUX mode, addresses the remote back to the default which is to the receiver”. I do not want to delete the SAT mode settings. Will using 222 delete my SAT mode settings? Thanks.

That refers to changing the address for the receiver (i.e. from 4 to 12).
Look in the manual at changing address.
Setting AUX for your stereo won't effect the Sat. address.
