Question Help - TECH Question

I used to run my fiber optic from the 211 to my reciever & component video to the TV. I was able to then put on SIRIUS music and using my AB switch (reciever) play SAT music on my outdoor speakers.

I had to change out my component for HDMI, but still must connect to reciever with fiber optic (ONKYO reciever has no HDMI).

Now I cannot get SAT sound through the AB switch - even though the AB switch works for FM/AM tuner etc.

I don't mean to confuse...I don't understand why simply switching out component video for HDMI (and leaving the optic the same) - keeps me from listening to SAT outside.

I miss it..

You switched to HDMI from component but this has nothing to do with reciever.
On your AV receiver you still using fibre optic. If you can listen to other components on A/B, you should be able to use it for SAT also.

Question I wonder...

I wonder if by choosing the HDMI output, since HDMI includes sound, if it is cancelling the audio output from your fiber (digital audio)... just a thought...

I've not seen or heard of that happening with any other Dish receiver.

I am running both HDMI and fiber out of my 622.

Both are active 24/7.
