Problems with DISHTV...

New to this forum.

Last fall, I received the new "smart card" and installed it. Not long afterward, I noticed the sat box automatically switching to the DISHTV channel 101. For several months, I complained to the support people at DISHTV only to get the "...the engineers are aware of the problem and are working on it..." response.

Now I'm getting the "PRESS SELECT TO GO INTERACTIVE" message in the upper right corner.

Anybody else have these problems?

I see the "interactive" feature on more and more things, however it only appears for a few seconds and only on things where there is an option to purchase or to participate in a survey. Is your experience different? I have only had the box default to 101 when I do a reboot or have power failure or other situation wipes the last channel viewed from memory.

I have had the receiver switch to channel 101 when I shut off receiver while viewing either a ppv channel or my HD rsn.

Dish will not allow you to lock out channel 101.
