Default My 722K has no ota tuner

I just received my new 722K and it didn't come with a ota tuner. I thought it was supposed to have 2 ota tuners. Should I complain to Dish, or do I have to buy the module?

Are they totaly missing or are there a hole where they should be?? Either way I would have Dish replace it with a new 722 that has them..

The new 722k does not come with the OTA tuner, it is an add on. If you wanted it with the original unit, you would have needed to order it. The 6000 receiver was the same when it came out. All others have had the tuner built in (except maybe the 5000 receiver, I am not familiar with that unit at all.)

So this claim of having 2 tuners is BS??

There is a big difference in HAVING 2 tuners and CAPABLE of 2 tuners.

Youd think it would have at least one on board......

wow, what do the tuners cost??

The OTA tuner on the 722k is an add on piece. Dish thinks not everyone with Dish and wants HD has an OTA antenna. The original 6000 HD receiver had it's OTA module as an add on as well.

The 722k does not have a coax output for tv1 but then neither does the 722 or 622. The OTA module was a standard feature with the 722, but not with the K, why? The extra cost with the learning remotes used with the 722k.... The learning remotes both upload and download content to the 722k, so if you ever have to replace the remote or the 722k receiver the new unit will download all your setting from the remaining piece. This way you dont have to reprogram anything.

As far as why really isnt the OTA included... It is 2009, and only a handful of new subs are using the OTA feature. Ok welll thats atleast what I am made to understand.

The OTA module for the 722K is made in India and does not work properly. It is junk. I wouldn't buy one until they fix it.

I always thought the two tuner claim referred to the fact that you can have TV1 and TV2 broadcasting two different things at the same time.
