Angry Protest against Dish Network and cancellation of my HD service!

Today is another sad days for all DishHD subscribers. Dish, without any explanation, removed a high quality HD channel while adding a not so good one. Let me be specific here: Not everyone loves Smithsonian, not everyone hates C&I HD, but the way Dish treats their customers is beyond comprehension: absolutely grotesque and disgusting. I am drafting this letter to the following Media Outlets and several major investors of Dish to add pressure to this company. Please support me by replying to my post.
1). Wall Street journal: wsj.ltrs@wsj.com
2). CNBC: madmoney@cnbc.com
3). Bloomberg, email will be send online, no email address found
4). Fox Business: foxbusinessonline@foxbusiness.com
5). Reuters: customerzone@reuters.com
6). NY Times: news-tips@nytimes.com
7). Fairholme Capital: fcminfo@fairholme.net
8). Barclays Global: client.reporting@barclaysglobal.com
9). Moodys: ratingsdesk@moodys.com
10). Standard&Poor: questions@standardandpoors.com

To whom it may concern:

I am currently a Dish HD subscriber (Account number: 825590961264****, Receiver# R0083413457, Smart Card #: S1937143964) and once again, shocked by Dish's unannounced, grotesque and sleazy way of removing Smithsonian HD channels on Feb 1st while adding another less welcome C&I HD channels. Dish Network had established a reputation of removing premium HD channels (HD quality 24/7, without advertisement). Voom HD is a good example that was destroyed by Dish Network. Dish also had a reputation of using their customers as hostage whenever Dish has a dispute with content provider. HD channels from News Corp are good examples: Dish is the only big provider who does not have FNCHD, Fox business HD and FXHD. I understand content providers can be greedy, such as the Disney company and their ridiculously costly ESPN, but any reasonable person would agree that simply degrading my paid service without informing me is terrible choice and surely to backfire. I also understand that those removed channels are not loved by every subscriber, but it is up to me to choose whether I watch it or not, NOT Dish Network, because I am paying!

Ladies and gentlemen, among Dish subscribers anger is virtually universal, simply go to the following websites you will understand this very well. http://www.tvpredictions.com, http://www./dish-network-forum/, http://www.highdefforum.com/dish-network-forum-19/. If subscribers are not bound by contract, Dish would face mass exodus. For those of you who are working in the media, please report my email; for those Dish investors, it is time to dump their stock, for those who rate this company, it is time to downgrade Dish. For those private investors, Dish is no good

Currently the economy is tumbling, and many companies have failed recently, such as Circuit City. Well, Dish is the next unless all their top management are removed immediately, even that may be a little too late. I have to say that Dish is terrible, grotesque, vicious and plain stupid.

Thank you!

Dr. Yang

Do we really need two threads on the same subject by the same person? The OP needs to give it a rest.

At least here you explain something, yeah they suck removing channels just to put new ones.
This wouldn't accomplish anything, it would be like writing to congress to get rid of the electoral college system so that he people would actually vote for the president, they won't listen because they don't care about what you or I have to say.

To Dr. Yang,
Stop bitching and start acting professional about it. I was beginning to think it was a decent letter as you informed them of the facts. Then you started bitching which no one respects.
Good luck. I was going to agree with you but I don't agree with your method.

This letter will probably do nothing. Money talks. Cancel your Dish service and move to someone else.

I'm also totally pissed with dish for removing in my opinion the best HD channel available HD Smithsonian. They replaced in with a cheesy Hollywood CI channel.

Look, let's take a dip in lake real here. DISH has certainly let their customer service slip in recent years, and by definition they can't please all the people all the time, so some people are going to complain when a channel they like is removed, and others will be pleased at the new channel that replaced it.

I think the OPs Medical Degree must come from 'The Disney School Of Medicine'.

Or maybe he went for a few extra years at Mcdonalds' Hamburger University.

Care to list ALL your account numbers for verification purposes?

There are a lot of injustices, certainly beyond removing one's favorite channels. Gee, guess they did it just to p$$ you off.
How do they get channels? They negotiate terms. That means there is more than one party involved in the process.
It's all give and take. Maybe Dish did not negotiate well enough, or maybe the broadcaster refused to lower their bid.
So many possibilities. Now that we have all your facts, like your smart card and part of your account number we can really help you more...NOT!
Stop taking changes or problems so personally.
I would assume you should be able to reason out that you do not have all the facts except how they affect you.
There are not enough satellites or even enough money to have ALL the channels everybody wants! So life is a compromise, welcome to the real world!

Another opinion.
I haven't noticed the new satellite mentioned in the last posts on this thread.
There are a lot of places on this forum to see the recent and ongoing uplink
activity for Ceil 2. I even saw somewhere that Smithsonian was uplinked a few
days ago, however not active at this time of ongoing talks to get it back on soon
if possible. ?? This is a huge task to get this new bird online with hundreds of
uplinks and they are doing a fantastic job so far. I have been with Dish for 10
years and still have a wish list also.
I feel that right now is exactly the wrong time to leave. I think that in the next
few weeks we have a lot of great things coming our way and at a fair price!!
When you look back over the fence this summer you'll see greener grass, bring
a ladder to see, the grass will be very tall cause we are watching our favorites
in HD not mowing grass!! Most of these changes are happening later than Dish
wanted due to circumstances they could not control, such as a lost bird.
Now is the time to be HAPPY !!
