I've been delaying re-upping with them in the hopes that I could get one of these new receivers, but now...

GREAT NEWS GUYS!!!!

they just brought in a ViP 922 into the office this morning, I actually had some hands on time with it, and its really nice.

It's got a touch sensitive front panel, and the remote even has a track pad with a trigger under it for the select button.

I snapped a few pics and a video with my iphone but they were all blurry, I'll try and see if I could get some good shots of it tomorrow, so I'll keep you guys posted!

Can any subscriber get the new VIP 922? I'm on a 2 year contract and would love to change my receiver if it's better than the 612 that I have now.

I can't get into any specifics right but I'm pretty sure anybody could upgrade, however it will cost some money and require a new 24 month contract

But then again you always have the option of purchasing it which would not require a contract, however it would cost you a pretty penny

Nothing much changed with the inputs/outputs on the back except for the tv2 remote antenna, it's actually alot better now.

From Dish engineer. No HD on TV2. HD output may be possible through Ethernet cable but no wireless.
