Dish Network® Unveils Biggest High Definition Upgrade In Tv History

I just received an email from Dish stating that "all HD customers have been Turbo Charged."

When I checked my guide, sure enough, "I am Legend" was listed and in 1080p.

Anyone still not have the update?
Anyone checked out the movie and its PQ yet?

Here in Houston no update. I have a 622 and I am still showing software version L512.
I have not seen "I Am Legend" either, I am looking forward to seeing it in 1080p. I guess i'll just have to wait and wait and wait.......

What I don't understand is how 1080p is going to help. The information says that 1080p is only available on the 612, 622, and 722. However, if you go to setup, you can still only output in 480i, 720p, and 1080i.

I noticed that also. Who knows. I am going to rent the movie soon and check the "info" feature on the TV and see what resolution it is displaying. Maybe once the system does its 1080p check and it comes back positive the box will output 1080p when needed.

This just keeps getting better and better. Channel 501 will not display on ANY of the channel lists. I went to All Channels, cleared the guide, was watching Animal Planet, entered 501 with the remote, and there she was, 501 proudly touting "semi pro"!!!!!!!

I have yet to find a link anywhere to order I am legend.

I was bored, so I got on tech chat. I told him the above, and of course he told me to go to 501 and I could order I am legend.

I asked him if he even read the first paragraph of our chat. He replied with the normal "2-3 minutes" reply.

I checked back to 501, and now it had a list of upcoming "BR Quality" movies upcoming, at the $2.99 special price. Want to guess the movie that was NOT on that list?????

My tech came back, and said he could not find a way to order IAL!

I told him about the upcoming movies on 501, and he reply was worth the price of admission............ready????

"Sir, that's GREAT! You know more about the new service than we do in the tech department"

I was going to ask him the next question with no answer, but I felt sorry for the guy, and he was honest. If you really want a laugh, get in touch with DISH and ask them if the Movies and TV shows I always record will have an expiration date.

If you really want to play mind games, ask them if the $50 one time fee to activate your DVR's so you can download them to an external harddrive, has gone up in price.

(You can also add the fact that DISH has been using the above options as their major sales pitch, and ask them why the Hell are they still touting the record to external hard drive feature, when they can't even tell you if your Media recorded on your DISH DVR will only be viewable for 24 hours????? Not a fun prospect if your setting on a new external Hard Drive, a DVR that is now only a DV and your out the $50 you paid DISH for ANOTHER service that is totally useless.)

That 24 hour thing is ONLY for PPV/POV movies. Any other recordings stay on your drive(s) until you delete them.

I think its great!!!......if you dont subscribe to movie channels thats your own fault.

I have been watching Green HD and green since it started. Thats enought for me, then some 15+ more channels!!! Awesome!!!

Sucks i lost Universal but if they add some 20+ channels to the HD ult i wil probrably order it.

I had the HBO and all other channels before i left on Aug 3rd.
