Question Difference in picture quality

Got HDTV for christmas mounted in my kitchen. There is a difference in picture quality between my dish receiver and OTA antenna. My roof mount antenna picture has better picture quality then the picture from my 322 receiver that is supplying this tv with it's signal. I am using AV cable to feed this tv from my greatroom. Would upgrading my receiver improve picture quality? I'm comparing digital to digital not HD to digital.

I read the same complaint from other posters. There picture is better with OTA broadcast then with the sat. rec. I do know that my
PQ is not the same on ever HD channel [D* Sat. rec.] I don't think changing your hook-up is going to make a difference. However if you have component jacks [TV] you might try them.

Most OTA (antenna on roof or in house) nowadays is HD so you actually are comparing HD to SD from your 322.

SD locals are the worst pq around due to compression.
OTA digital and HD is always superior.
SD on an HDTV is even worse.

Call a local Retailer. And, we'll check your receiver in the store for free. If you can reach your LNBF, we'll check it for free too!!!!
