i have had dish for about 3 months now. everyhitng is fine except intermittently, my receiver starts changing channels. it is usually surfing up or down a few at a time. i am not sittign on the remote or anyhting like that. the 811 receiver does not ahve anything around it, "bumping into" the buttons. i even took the batteries out of the remote and it still happened.
it has an RF antenna attached. any chance it is picking up interference form a cell phone or something like that? i am in a house in downtown Greenville SC. (NOT a an apartment with lots of other TVs, dishs, etc around) what could cause this ghost surfing? i have two 511 receivers and have not seen this happen on them. of course they are not used nearly as much as the 811 which is hooked up to my 42 inch HD panasonic any ideas? |

If it's changing channels on "it's own", it is someone else changing them for you. Go into System Info(menu ,6,1,3), ck the Remote Address.
Change the remote address to a number not being used by your 511s. fred
