I searched and read some possible related threads and failed to find and answer. It's probably a dumb question, but whatever. Is there any additional channels I will get if I get and OTA antenna vs. paying the $5 bucks I pay now for my locals? I'm asking because on the site linked below it shows WB, PBS and UPN as an OTA channel.

I have both, I get some channels via Dish I don't get OTA, but I also get some channels OTA that Dish doesn't supply, plus CW in HD as well. Plus I get guide info for OTA guide.

What antenna is good antenna? Will I have to switch video inputs to view OTA channels? Or will they feed in another way?

If your tv has an HD tuner built in, you can run coax direct to tv and do a channel scan to get your ota. If not, Dish receivers also have HD tuner built in. Again just attach coax to proper input on receiver and do scan. If you have a 622 (you did not state which receiver you have) you can split the coax feed into both, this way you can record one channel on the 622 and watch another live via the tv. Check www.antennaweb.org put in your zip and get more information.

I do have a 622. I also have a cable coax line coming in from Time Warner. They never disconnected the cable from my house. Well they never "trapped" it I should say. When I requested the high speed internet, they said they would trap out the cable but they never did. So I did a scan and I do get a few select HD channels through that. I get KCET which I don't get with DISH, but I don't get any other channels I don't get with my DISH service. But I think I might try the split idea you gave me. Thanks a lot.
