Talking No Espn 2 Hd For Dish

ESPN will light up ESPN2 HD today, and the sports programmer has agreements with DirecTV and Adelphia for carriage of the new high def sports network.

ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will offer 82 live events during the first 83 days of 2005 across both services, the sports programmer said. In total, ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will deliver 300 major events plus 2,000 programs totaling 6,000 hours in high definition in 2005, ESPN said.

All high-definition programming on ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will be delivered to cable systems and satellite providers in the 720p high-definition format.

I can't believe Dish will not have ESPN2 HD. They have EV1 that carries NBA Mavericks game that is on once every second week that is usually blacked out in my area, NBA HD that is blacked out some times, and a ppv NBA channel that you get the same channel as nba hd that you get for free on the nba hd channell. 3 wasted channels. I have posted 3 or 4 times about programing or lack of programing and have not gotten any replies. This leaves me to believe that no one is concerned ababout programing.?????????? Which i would think is the number one concern for us who spend thousands of Bucks for HD. If no one is making any noise over lack of programing Dish thinks we are HAPPY. I'm NOT. 15,000 Members on this forum and no one makes any Noise. Give us more HD Charlie or loss us.

Default No ESPN2HD yet...

Comcast doesn't have yet either, but geeze, it is till Jan 6...when they said they would start airing it. My guess is that it takes a bit of testing prior to publishing the signal.

I'll be patient...the fact it is coming at all is a 10% improvement (11 channels in HD from my current 10).

Geeeeez, give it some time!!

ESPN doesn't have any content yet in HD anyway. So what would you watch.
I can tell ya the the DiscHD camera crew isn't going out to a bassmater tourney real soon.
Hell, espn has enough trouble with HD content on the prime channel.

it's all gonna take TIME !!

Default Espn Hd

fredinva-- In watching ESPN HD channel on Dish, it sure doesn't look like HD to me. And it is always in 4x3 format and fills only about 2/3 of the screen. Is it in fact true that ESPN isn't "actually" broadcasting anything in HD format. There is always a picture on their HD channel but again, it is in 4x3 format and doesn't look like HD to me.

Like HD Net, I expected ESPN to brodcast live events in full HD and in 16 x 9 format.

Most of the baseball games and Sunday night football, along with Sportcenter is in 720P. Highlights are not usually. You need a 16X9 Tv, if you do not already have one.
