If he could get DirecTV then he can get DISH as each satellites are in similar positions.

Default what i think

i think its all about what you like. if you are a NFL guy you go with Dtv if your a hd guy u go with dish most likely. if you are cheap and only need the basic go with dish. Xm has some channels on Dtv. dish has some sirrus channels. Are locals in hd important then u need find out if they are offered. or u can rush in and hope.
good luck

Not necessarily true!!
Dish is about twenty degrees more in west azimuth and that means also a bit lower in the belt(elevation).

Call a local Retailer. And, we'll check your receiver in the store for free. If you can reach your LNBF, we'll check it for free too!!!!

All of the satellites from DISH and DirecTV are geostationary. I believe that DirecTVs sats are as follows 101, 110, and 119. DISH sats are as follows 110, 119, and 129. So you are telling me that the DirecTV sat at 119 has a much better position than the DISH sat at 119? They are both geostationary at the euqator.

Default Switch to Dish Network

Dish Network really does have the most HD channels, including many channels exclusive to Dish Network. Check out www.AllAmericanDirect.com - they've got great promo offers for new customers. Happy viewing!

highlander21,
I just recently made the switch. I have the HD Platinum package + the $5.99 a month sports pack that has NESN, a couple Comcast Sports channels, and bunch of the FOX SPORTS Networks around the country.
I pay $117 per month.

I have season tickets to the Ravens, and don't need the NFL TICKET. If I'm not going on a road trip to the away games, I'll be at the bar watching the NFL Ticket. If you don't need the NFL TICKET, than Dish blows DTV away.

When DTV gets with it, you can always go back. Cable doesn't even compare to either.

That's my opinion of course.

So you can call DISH and get these new sports channels? I was not aware of this. Is it worth it? Are there blackouts? I thought that the Platinum gives you EVERYTHING besides PPV?
