Default Setting up 211K to Eastern arc antenna

For an upcoming trip to the northeast and down the east coast a ways, I'm attempting to setup Dish Satellite (DS). It was suggested here on rv.net to use the eastern arc.

I have purchased the 211K, 1000.4 antenna, tv4rv tripod and 50' of rg6 coax. The 211 and antenna (antenna was assembled with 1 coax coming out of the arm) were purchased locally here in Round Rock, TX.

The guy at the store setup the 211 on a western arc antenna.
At home, I set up everything in the rv using existing satellite connection. Found a eastern signal, program guide downloaded and then dropped signal. After that, I could not get a signal.

I repositioned the antenna, directly wired the coax between the 211 and antenna. Got another 5 bar signal, downloaded programing, dropped signal.

Also, I took off the LNB to see which connector the coax was connected to. It was connected to #3 connector (third connector from the left).

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Pat

Did you run the check switch test so the receiver knows which satellites the dish is pointed at? You should disconnect the coax from the receiver and run a check switch test to clear the matrix, connect to coax and run a check switch test again to get the satellites on to the matrix. It should work if you have a good signal. Thanks.

Hello Ray.
I disconnected the coax
I am currently running the test.
The unit is in my rv. When I left, the test was on 1 of 50.
Do I save the results?
Or reconnect antenna and run again?
After reconnecting antenna and running test, do I save?

Yes, save the results (it clears it, if you don't save the receiver will continue to look for the current setup). Then reconnect and run check switch again, again you save the results. You will need to run the check switch each time you move the receiver to the other antenna.

I've got channels.
Not sure if I'm getting all that I'm supposed to.
Thank you Ray and Gary!
