Sound and Picture Out of Sync

With all of the big screen thin TV's that are out there, I know someone else
has this problem. I have purchased a sound bar to enhance the poor speakers in my TV. The lips of the people move a bit after I hear the sound. I am sure many others have run across this. I found a solution that is a box with an adjustable knob which delays the sound. It is $79. If any of you have run across a cheaper fix for this, I would like to know before I spend any money on the box. == This is not exactly a problem for the HD Forum, but I was hoping someone could help. On many tv's there is an audio delay built in, check the settings of the tv first.

There should also be a delay setting in the soundbar check their as well - On what settings or source does this happen - cable/sat /blu-ray /ota/ all of them? and how do you have everything connected.

I have the Dish Network. I have checked other sites and it appears to be a technical problem with all services and does not have any thing to do with the Dish specifically. I have checked the Vizio Sound Bar but it does not have a delay switch nor does the TV menu. I have found this small box that the RCA plugs fit into between the Sound Bar and Dish Receiver with a dial that can delay the sound. I will just invest in that and it should work. I was just looking for a cheaper way to do it. Thanks to all.

Do you turn the sound bar on before or after the tv? I've noticed with my surround sound, if I turn it on before the tv, it will be out of sync. But, if I turn my tv on and let the sound come on before turning the surround sound on, it will be just fine.

I had been turning on the one that my finger happen to hit first. I tried turning on the TV first but no luck. Thanks for the idea.
