Default Dish Network intermittant signal loss

I'm looking for some help. Since the middle of May i have been having signal loss on both of my receivers in the evenings. It starts between between 7pm and 9 pm and lasts for 3-4 hours. Some nights i cant get any channels. Some nights a select number of channels come in. Sometimes the HD version of a channel comes in and the SD does not. Sometimes the SD version comes in and the HD does not.

A channel never goes out while you are tuned to it. However, if you switch channels and come back to one it will drop it.

I had Dish Service for a year and never had a bit of trouble until this. I have never had any problems that i know of outside of the hours listed above.

Dish has sent seven different technicians to diagnose this problem, with no success. There has never been a technician at the house when i am having a problem since it only occurs at night. There is absolutely nothing even partially blocking the view of the sky. I have looked at it while it is happening to verify that nothing is there. Following is what was done on each of the seven visits:

1. Replace LNB
2. Replace diplexers and ground blocks and cut new ends on cables
3. New ends on cable at LNB
4. Replace LNB again and replace reflector
5. Replace both receivers
6. Replace diplexers and ground blocks again and replace LNB again
7. Change out wall plates at the TV.

Anybody got any ideas? I'm really fed up with this.

What model receiver do you have? Do you have an over the air antenna also connected? Try to note the error code number.

With all the technician visits that occurred, has a Field Service Manager been sent to your home? Please let me know. Thanks.

It has been a different person each time. None of them have identified themselves as a Field Service Manager, but i guess they could have been.

One other thing. One receiver always says either "Channel signal loss" or "Complete signal loss" The other receiver says both of those two things, but sometimes it also says "Outside of viewing area"

Channel loss should be 002 error, complete loss should be 015, outside viewing area should be for your locals. Are you in an RV or a permanent home? What has your weather been like - very hot? Thanks.

It is a permanent home ten years old. I got dish network one year ago. It worked flawlessly for a year. In May i started having these problems. It happens every evening no matter what the temperature or weather. I have never seen a problem outside of the evening hours.

Yes, the 002 and 015 error codes do correspond to the messages i have been
getting. Also, i can tune in a local channel on one receiver and it says "partial signal loss", then walk to the other receiver, tune in the same channel and the message is, "outside of viewing area".

Please PM your account number to me and I will setup another technician visit for you but request a field service manager (FSM). Please let me know. Thanks.

I just looked at the error code and it is 004.

I found a couple of channels that were working around 120, but only the HD versions of those channels.

When i went to the dish pointing screen, the signals were 0 for all satelites, except for the 61.5 and 72.7.

72.7 had a signal strength of 57 and said channel locked

61.5 also had a signal strength of 57 and said "72.7 echostar wrong satelite" and the signal bar was in red.

Again, no technician has ever observed the problem while it is happening because it has never happened before 7pm

Ray,
When should i expect to hear about this technician visit? I was kind of hesitant to call Dish back because the last technician that came out said if the wall plates didnt fix my problem there was nothing else they could do for me.

I pay $125 a month for Dish programming and i havent been able to watch a prime time tv show in two months. When i asked if they could adjust my bill, they told me they could knock off $10 a month. I feel like i must be talking to the wrong people. What should I do?

Default constant channel signal loss and partial channel signal loss

I too have been having the same problem Barrone has had over the several months. I have since had 5tech news one replaced the DVR, the second replaced a DVR on the second floor the third replaced the LnB and the fourth replaced the NLb and be and DISH. On the fifth visit they replaced the LnB for the second time than they were told to check the cables now I thought this was a silly idea because I have three separate high definition set top boxes with three separate cables off of the LNb. The only common link is the L. n B. and the dish itself. Since this only occurs between the hours of 8 PM and 2 AM when the text show up everything is working fine during daylight hours. So what I had to do was videotape the error is and at times they occur so they did not think I was crazy and I had some proof of the errors is that occur. The following are some of the errors that I have been receiving over the past several months.
Partial signal loss 002
total signal loss 015
total signal loss on local channels 536
channels signal loss 004
signal loss on high deff switching to standard but standard oh so never shows up
local channels are outside your viewing area
now I'm told I should be set up for satellites 61.5, 77, and 72.
These are all on the Eastern arc. After many phone conversations during the day one tech advised me to tell the tech on-site to switch the to the Western arc. That included satellites 129 110 and 119.
He failed to mention to me that I would lose all my local hi def channels. So I had D. Tech trier in hopes that maybe he was incorrect but the tech did advise me that I would lose some of the high death channels he wound up that I lost all the local high death channels. So I had a ham redirect the dish back to the original Eastern arc.
I videotape all of these eras so I asked three or four days to show that tech what I was dealing with. Seeing that this only happened between the hours of 8 PM and 2am the following day HELP ANYONE

I apologize the technicians have not been able to locate the problem. Since several technicians have come to your home, I can schedule a Field Service Manager contact you about this issue. Please let me know if you would like to schedule a Field Service Manager. Thanks.

Default Similar issues

I have lost my local HD stations, satellite 61.5 around noon every Sunday for the past 6 weeks. (Have not checked out other days of the week at the same time.) Reception is lost for about 3-4 hours then returns. Today was no different. They have replaced some internal equipment, power supply etc. No obstructions, clear skies, dish angles fine etc. They keep offering to stop out (after 3 visits already) but they have no idea what they would even do. Maybe time to get rid of Dish.

Any other ideas to consider prior to dropping Dish?
