Default hopper questions

when you record shows using prime time any time and then you play them back and watch them can you fast forward thru the commercials??

if you are NOT using ptat, how many hd shows can you record at
one time??

how much hard drive storage space is there to record and save shows, if you are NOT using ptat?

Yes, once the recording is done, you can skip or ff thru the commercials, same as any dvr.
PTAT will record up to four HD networks, providing your locals are available thru Dish in HD and they use one tuner. Two tuners left so you can record up to 6 HD programs with PTAT active, 3 programs (all HD if you want) when PTAT not active.
Built in Hard Drive is 2 TB, you can add EHD if you need more space. Amount used for your recordings does not change if you are not using PTAT, these are partitioned and remains as such.

Just to clarify, the Hopper has a 2 TB HD but only has 500 GB partitioned for DVR recordings (PTAT on different partition). The 500 GB capacity is suppose to be upgraded to 1 TB with new software update. This will give you up to 500 hours in HD.

You can view a program while it is recording and have full DVR functionality while it is recording - pause, ff, rewind, etc.. If you have further questions, please let me know. Thanks.

so with what you are saying it would be ignorant not to have the
ptat enabled because 1tb of hard drive would just be used for nothing
and wasted. and right now there is only a 500gb hard drive for the dvr
that is able to be used

You don't need PTAT enabled if you are not going to use it. I have mine disabled. Once the S2.09 is rolled out to your Hopper, the size of the partition will increase to 1 TB for personal DVR recordings from 500 GB. Thanks.
