How did you swing that deal, all I get is grief when I request it..??

They understood that I was ready to cancel since I was out of contract. I merely pointed out that if I came back to them in 90 days they'd simply give the Hopper/Joey set-up to me anyways as a "new" customer. I believe they saw the logic in that. Also was bumped up to a higher lever CSR, who was very helpful.

To change the Inactivity Standby setting, press the Yellow Hot Key button on your remote to display Settings on your TV. Select the Diagnostics icon, Updates, and then change the duration setting. Please let me know if you have further questions. Thanks.

Default @ Hopper, 2 Joeys Seeing Each Other?

I just got a 2 Hopper 2 Joey system installed Sunday. My questions is should I be able access the tuners on the second Hopper from either the Joeys (Linked to the First Hopper) or the first Hopper?

I can access DVR recording on either Hopper from any unit, but can only pause and pick up between the first Hopper and the two Joeys linked to it.

Clear as mud?

Eric

Default Hopper Question for RayC@DISH

I would like your help. I currently have a whole house system that I use for my 722K DVR, I take the signal out of the DVR and send it through a modulator then by coax to my tv's. My 722k receiver has just started not to re-boot, stuck on starting up or goes through 981 reboot recovery thing. Tech support says that I need to replace DVR. I am thinking about going with the Hopper. With this system it should be easy to install by just bypassing the modulator system and sending the Hopper signal to the whole house where I can use 3 joeys (max).

Am I correct?

What can I do if I need more than 3 tv's (not counting Hopper tv) with this type of system? without running new cable? or should I just move a Joey to a tv if needed? Only one of the remote tv's is HD.

What would be the cost? service I know is $10 for DVR/Hoppper and $7 for JOey/month. but what about equipment cost? and what about a tech fee ($15) when I am pretty sure I can set it up myself pretty easy.

thoughts and what can you do to help me .

thanks

I believe you can only access access the tuner from a Joey attached to that Hopper, but you can access recordings from either Hopper from any Joey.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Not entirely sure I follow what you are saying. But, with the Hopper/Joey system, you have to have a direct RG6 cable connected to the Hopper.

Let me see if I can explain it simply. Your current setup seems to be Satellite to ground block, ground block to diplexor, dipliexor to Reciever, Diplexor to TV2. That is, if the tech installed with a triplexor or wrong if through hard wiring TV2, and installed it correctly.

from what I gather, you have a box set by coaxial cable from TV2 to a modulator and then have a splitter to other tv2's? Essentially you are mirroring correct?

How many Tvs total are you wanting and the type (SD/HD)?

Anyways, the Hopper/Joey system needs new equipment to work. A Duo node because of needing 2 hoppers (host) for more than 4 rooms. Splitters from the duo node for Joeys (client).

The Hopper requires that there be RG6 of 3GHz from the Node. RG59 can be used for the Joeys, but I always have issues with MoCA when installing that way. Also, if the wire from the node to the hopper has a barrel, make sure it is a high frequency barrel (ie. Wall plate), the inside should be blue.

Each Hopper can link 3 different Joeys. Any TV above the 4 (1 Hopper and 3 Joeys), can either mirror one of the other TVs or requires another Hopper and Joeys depending upon how many TVs, above 4, you have.

The cost for the Hopper/Joeys depends on the number of TVs needed, along with other factors. Please PM me your account number so I can review the options available to you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Our customers love that feature and Auto Hop. I don't watch network channels so I have the PTAT feature disabled on my Hopper. Thanks.

Correct, with nationally broadcast events. If it's not national, the Auto Hop option doesn't exist. Auto Hop also is only available after 1 am the following day. Thanks.
