Most Of the time I found that Dish Network customer service knows almost Nothing about Dish Network or the products they sell. They seem to be a very uneducated bunch of people.Though I WILL say that their Advance Technical department people are EXCELLENT and extremely helpful and knowledgable....MOST of the time.

You are absolutely right rick, I have never talked to such a group of people that had no idea about their product before. I switched from Voom this weekend because of their great package program ($44) for 3 rooms and HD.
I suscribed with one of their local retailers who insisted that I did not need an ota to recieve locals in high def, and that I would receive "everything I need to enjoy all the HD channels". When the tech came to install, he said "I think you might need it", so I called customer service while the tech was here, and she said no, so the tech left. I eagerly flipped to the sunday morning football game (my only reason for HD) and was in COMPLETE SHOCK to find it was in crappy SD. After picking myself off the floor and using smelling salts to revive myself, I mustered the energy to call DISH. The person who answered agreed that I did need an OTA, she then transferred me to another girl who had the nads to say if I did not get the game in HD, that meant it was not broadcast in HD. WHAT?? It was broadcast in HD on my voom system before it was unplugged!! Someone give me an answer!! I was soo p'd off I hung up the phone. Called back 20 minutes later and asked for a superivsor and got transferred to to the HD Advanced tech dept...da da da da! Very helpful staff, answered all my questions..blah blah blah. Get transferred back to the "supervisor" who said they would gladly come back to install an antennae for ......$139.....are you friggin kiddin me? After a little talk with the "supervisor" they are now coming this saturday to do an install, FREE, not even a charge for the OTA. Sorry this post was so long, just wanted to share my experience. Do not agree to pay for anything if you feel you were wronged. With so much competition these days, the consumer has plenty of bargaining chips. |
