Default Are there any other satellite tv providers other then direct tv or dish network?

I live in a pretty remote area in central Florida and I do not have the option of getting cable (which I prefer). I have looked into and know people who have both direct tv and dish network, I am not terribly impressed. I also am not interested in watching TV through my PC. Does anyone know of any other service or provider that might be more worthwile?

OP stated "remote area"...FIOS or U-Verse are only available in "big market" areas.

Just curious as to the aversion to satellite? I've had both D* and E* as well as Concast and would only go back to cable at gunpoint, if then. Then, again, I'm in an excellent location for satellite and have had rare weather problems.

But they were bottom-rated by Consumer Reports

I wouldn't put much weight into consumer reports as most cable companies are rated much worse than any of the satellite providers by any other reviewers and I too agree. Dish and DirecTV are both worlds better than cable and deliver a much better picture in most markets (except FIOS which delivers a great picture). Sat. prices are better as well.

Chances are if they have problems, they're dishes aren't alligned and anchored properly. I have to have a frog strangler of a storm to lose signal.
