Question Questions about 211k, 222K & 622

Since the 211K receiver has 1 tuner and you can't record with an EHD one program while watching another, does anybody know if the 222k will have the EHD feature someday? Has anyone heard anything concerning the 222k?

How good is the 211K? How good is the 622/DVR? I appreciate your thoughts, specially if your a user of one of these models. Thanks.

I've been waiting a year and a half now for the 222k to have the EHD feature. The head of the company even stated about 2 months ago that the feature would be available the first of the year. When I emailed dish to find out they said no it would not. Then I sent them another email and stated what the CEO had said it would. I then got a long drawn out email stating it was a mix up between him and the tech deptartment, and that there are no plans to bring the feature to the 222k in the future.

If you have the optional OTA module installed in the 211k, you can record OTA while watching satellite or vice-versa.

211K does not have the optional OTA module, it has the OTA built in just like the 211.

Since Dish chose to screw us with the receiver fees, I am recommending everyone use the 211/211k instead of the dual tuner DVRs.

You DO get one SAT and one OTA tuner, so you have the option of watching either pre-recorded material or watching the other tuner.

My theory is that the 222 will NEVER get the EHD, because it would practically make it a 722.

I agree, I am going to call them and bitch about the 222k. I have that and a 722, so I would rather have 2 211's in place of the 222k. Then I could make one or both DVR's, and have HDTV on a third T.V. That is the set up that I wanted first, and they talked me in to the 222K, which was cheaper at the time, but no longer is.
