Default 722 DVR Remote question

Hello,

I'm pretty happy with my 722 remote, but is the input key supposed to change the TV inputs? I have a Toshiba TV and the input button does nothing. I'd like to be able to change to my blu-ray player and back from the DVR remote instead of having to grab the TV remote. Volume works fine as does the BD player controls through Regza-Link. Any suggestions?

If I have to go another universal remote route, can you suggest another universal remote that is DVR friendly? I'm rather fond of the DVR controls on the 722 remote and I'd like something similar if possible. Most of the ones I have seen have tiny buttons for the DVR functions.

You have to push the tv button on the top of the remote for it to work. It will not work with your tv when in sat mode.

For my 32" LCD, the menu button works and the format button on the bottom left of the remote controls the sleep timer.

Already tried that. It doesn't work in SAT, TV, or any other mode. Come on, give me SOME credit!

Not a matter of giving you credit. You need to state what you have tried so that someone can help, otherwise we have to start with the basics. For instance, is the TV a CRT or HDTV? A lot of the older sets really weren't friendly with any remote.

Can we assume that you tried all of the codes in the Dish manual? The code I use for my TV is one that the TV manual expressly listed for the Dish remote - maybe your TV manual has the same info.

If not, your best best is probably a Harmony remote. eCost.com always has some refurbs at pretty good prices, as does Circuit City.

The remote is already programmed with the code for the TV. The only function that does not work is the input button. Otherwise the remote controls the TV fine.

You can use the learning function on the Dish remote and have your TV's remote "teach" the Dish remote the correct code for this one key.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't realize the remote had the capability. Unfortunately I tried this multiple times and the remote would not accept the command, even if I tried assigning it to another key. I kept getting the three flashes indicating it was unsuccessful. Perhaps I'll try another universal remote and see if that works.
