Dish HD Platinum for free

I called Dish customer service last night to cancel my sports package. While they had me on the phone, the customer service rep offered me the Platinum HD package for free - permanently.

I had this package in past, but could no longer afford the additional $10.95. So if you don't already have it, call and ask. If you do, call and ask to stop being charged.

I just called to see about this, and they knew nothing about it. You may have signed up not for free and be billed after all.

NOPE - Platinum is now free with Classic Gold HD package.

Turbo subs are not supposed to get it free, but if you whine enough they might.

Yep, I called back today and got it. I always knew it would just be a matter of time before they did it.

I called a couple of weeks ago and complained that I was paying $10 a month while other subscribers were receiving Platinum for free. The CSR credited my account for this month and then took off the fee permenently. What can I say - 10 bucks is 10 bucks !!

I also called Dish and got Platinum HD for free!!! ... Not only that, I got HBO, Showtime and TMC free for 3 months with no commitment as long as I keep my Classic 250 Silver package ... What else, I got $10 free credit for the next 10 months!!!...

I asked to view the Platinum Pkg Saturday for the weekend & they gave it to me for a month. Might leave it with me.

There are 10 HD channell:

361 - MAVTV (Variety)
371 - BETJ (Caribbean)
373 - LOGO (Movies)
374 - FTV (Fashion)
383 - HDNMV (Movies)
385 - MGM (Movies)
387 - CI (Crime)
394 - WFN (Fishing)

the other 2 channels are NBA & NHL channels (showing old games)

After about half an hour on the phone, I think I got mine taken care of. Because of how my account was set up, I was listed as having Classic Silver 200, then $10 more for Classic Gold, then separate $10 charges for GoldHD and Platinum HD. My locals and DVR/On Demand fees were part of my Silver 200 fee. I needed to have Classic Gold 250 be the base package in order for the CSR to be able to knock off the Platinum fee. Weird.

Now I have the Classic Gold 250 as the base package, with my locals and DVR rolled into that fee for $10 more, and the Gold and Platinum HD together as another $10. I was getting a monthly $3 credit for having the DVR, but CSR wasn't sure if that would carry over. Still if I get billed correctly (which is certainly no guarantee), my bill will still be $7 less. I hope.

i am a dish network csr. just sorta looking through the forums and i noticed the platinum thing. we used to have 4 seperate hd pkgs. bronze, silver, gold, and platinum, each priced at $10/ea. well, since the begining of august, we are now adding platinum hd onto any of the other 3 hd pkgs...FOR FREE......well, for only one price of $10. so it would look like hd + platinum....... ( hd pkg depends wich programming pkg you have ). if you ANY questions what so ever, feel free to ask. im not at work. there, i am very limited as to what i can say on the phone....but im home now

I called and also received Platinum for free. My new bill is exactly $10.00 per month lower so I'm assuming the rep did everything right!

Hi all I just did this online, easiest way to get free platinum hd.
Best way to change to HD & Platinum programming: (I helped two friends do this the following way and it worked fine.)

1. Sign into your online account and click on “Programming” link on the left side of the page.
2. Under HD Programming options uncheck all of your current HD package(s).
3. Click “Review and Order” at the bottom of the page. (Verify all HD Package(s) were removed)
4. Click on the red “Back” button at the bottom of the page. You should see the “HD & Platinum” option.
5. Click on HD & Platinum for $10.
6. Click on “Review and Order” button. (Verify combined “HD & Platinum” package was added.)
7. Click on “Order” button. You should see the Platinum HD channels on your screen in 5-15 minutes.

Won't doing it this way commit you to another 1- or maybe 2-year contract?
