Question H21 1080i or 1080p?

Hello, I had a update on my H21 receiver on 6-30-09. It added 1080p to the resolutions. I have the Panny 46s1 1080p plasma. Should i keep the resolution on 1080p instead of 1080i, now since i got the 1080p resolution update? I keep my resolution to 'native' off on the receiver. Thanks.

The only thing DirecTV sends in 1080p is VOD, everything else is 1080i (or 720p if the originating source chooses).

If you set it for 1080p it will use 1080i for all non-1080p content. I leave mine set to 1080p.

All a matter of choice....

My native setting is on. If 1080p is being used on a downloaded or instant view VOD, then it will light the 720p and 1080i LED indicating the 1080p is being detected and used.
