Default replacing HR20-100 w/HR23-700

I'm thinking of replacing my HR20-100 with an HR23, can this be done without rewiring or replacing LNB's?

Shouldn't be a problem.

...but don't forget to remove the BBCs, the HR23 does not need them...

If I give my HR20 to my daughter, will she be able to use it.
She currently has H21. Will she need an SWM, there is only one coax cable at the wall outlet. I have two that connect to the BBC's.

If she doesn't live in your house you can't "give" her your HR20 it belongs to DIRECTV.

Well since the receiver is tied to your account if someone else tries to use it the system will know.

Yep. I just called DIRECTV and said bajajack is gonna give his HR21 to his daughter.

Go ahead and break the service agreement if you want to.

I don't care.

Don't come back here bitching about DIRECTV rates going up.

I don't believe the system can tell what address the box is located at.
As long as DTV gets the 5 bucks a month for addional rcvr why do they care?
People hook them up to RV's and vacation home's all the time without any problems.

You can transfer possession to another account holder. They dont like you to, but it can be done. They will have to speak to both of subscribers and both will have to relate the story. This is what I have done several times in the past, trading equipment with friends.
Does the HR20 support SWM? You think DTV will come out and install a SWM for you? Are all the receivers on the account SWM compatable? Might be cheaper to drop another line.
