Default Actual cost of DTV packages...

Anyone have a website that tells the "real world" prices of DTV services? I'm especially interested in the monthly cost of...

HBO
SHO

Right now I'm on the 3 month try everything plan and wondering what SHO and HBO will cost per month.

When I go on to DTVs website to search for this info, I get the BS that I already have this service. I don't get why these extra charges are all hidden.

I know I can probably get the info by calling DTV, but I would rather know what the actual charges are before I call them to drop either HBO, SHO or both of the services. My 90 tryout ends in about a week.

I'm on a Qwest triple play plan and I don't get breakdown billing like you apparently do. However, your listed charges add up to $36 and that exactly what my bill shows for all 3 pay services. On my deal and probably yours too, the 1st 3 months are free. IF the actual cost is only $36 after 3 months, I'll probably go with it for a while.

I'm a Comcast Cable refugee and they charge a lot more for these services. I just had HBO for around $20 or slightly less. I called them about adding SHO and was told it would be $18 more per month (note-no Starz!). I only wanted to watch a SHO series, but at $18 a month, I told them to FORGET ABOUT IT.

My 3 month freebie is up in a week and I assumed that DTV was going to try to whack me like Comcast did. So, I was primed to call to cancel SHO and Starz!, but at $36 or a little over a buck a day, I'm going to let it slide at least one month to check up the billing.

Thanks for the reply.

Your QWEST triple play bill should show the DIRECTV breakdown.
Mine does.

That's interesting. Mine doesn't, either paper or online unless I'm not looking in the right place. All it shows is $36 for the 3 pay services.

Kinda torques me off that everything is a secret with DTV and Comcast Cable about pricing. It's even harder to get info if there is a cookie on your computer showing you are a customer. I think they're afraid if customers knew what the individual services were, they would DEMAND more ala carte pricing. Why pay for ESPN if you don't every watch sports (for example.)

Just got off my wife's computer where there are no DTV cookies. There it quoted HBO @ $14.99 and Starz! @ $12.99. No quotes there for SHO.

That seems like a good deal. However, I could care less about SHO and Starz!. I like the original programing that HBO provides. SHO does do a few good original programs, but they're no where near HBO in this area IMHO.

Just spoke with DTV and was told that the first pay service (HBO, SHO or whatever) costs...

$14.99

The next service costs $12.99 and all extra services after that cost $11.99.
