Default HD DVR gets slower every month

It is becoming unbearable when scrolling in the guide. Are they loading more crap into this thing or might there be another reason? I have tried reset.

Thanks

Are you filling up your hard drive? I have noticed that the less hard drive space you have the slower the unit tends to operate.

D* has been using that space on the hard disk for programing since day one. Makes no difference in DVR response.

really? what were they putting there ?

i have to assume to have 10 full length movies in 1080p on your dvr takes a great deal of space

What version of software are you running ? and what Model HDDVR is it.

The lastest national download for the HR22-100 is 0x2f6 I got it this week and my response time has improved.

Also you can do a reset and that will speed it up some time.

If you Hard drive is over 50% full it will slow it dow as well (the D*) space makes no difference toward that amount , just what shows on the % bar.

Where's your hurry?

I doubt if it takes more than 7-10 seconds.

If such a "time lag" bothers you, their is no hope for you at all.

I was just about to complain also and then I read your response and starting laughing.

Of course, you are correct.

Now I feel better...

I my case, the DVR is not responding quickly to the numbers I put in to check out other channels in the guide. I type in 3 numbers and for some reason only 2 show up. This has been happening just the last two weeks or so.

Same here. It seems in the last 2 weeks, my 2 HR20-100s have crawled to a halt. A lot of lag time during any command. (Entering a number, menu, guide, etc.) I have same result if have 40% free or 90% free. Maybe I'll try resetting them when I get home.

Maestro,

You are a fool. How can waiting 7-10 seconds for a channel to change be acceptable to you, or anyone for that matter? It really is ridiculous that the HD DVRs are so slow. You have to admit that is a major flaw. Seriously man, there is "no hope" for someone who has an issue with waiting near 10 seconds for a channel to change? You don't see a problem with that? Patience is a virtue but come on, man. "No hope?"

Two of my hddvrs updated to a new screen when i go to test system, interesting.

That these machines now have on them multiple movies in 1080P just waiting for me to watch them, is an exciting development..might also explain why the dvrs are slowing down

4 gig per 1 1080P movie is 4x10 =40 gig of HD space D* Software 10gig for total of 50gis's of Harddrive space used by D* Hr22-100 has 500 Gig drive so that leaves 450 gig of space.

I call Bull $hit on your suggestion for the slow down. Your new screen is a direct result of 0x2f6 national software release update. So when you call D* for help the Load is displayed on top of the menu so you can read it to the csr faster that way they won't have to talk you thru finding it.
