Thank goodness. I have been very distraught trying to figure out where to dump some of my retirement income. One less thing to worry about.

My package will have gone up a total of $6 per month starting in March. Looks like DirecTV is not immune to a crappy economy.

Default This Is What I Think..............

Actually I see this slight price increase as a positive thing.DTV could of raised it even higher, yet did'nt.
Also,a price increase means more new HD channels are about to come out, just like what we saw back in September or so in 2008.We got a bunch of new HD channels all at the same time.It was like an early Christmas present.
I'm happy with this small price increase.I really am.
On the other hand with people losing their jobs left and right and the economy being in the tank..you would think Directv would be compassionate about this and you'd think they'd be smart.Plus if they lowered their price they would get a bunch of new customers or loyal customers who would'nt leave them. It makes no logical sense to raise prices when the economy is so bad.I guess Directv is taking the gamble anyway.

McDonalds for example has cheap prices and its stock has gone way up this year and they made over a billion dollar profit. They do great even in a bad economy because their prices are low and more people can afford to go to them.

I'm sorry but did you really just compare DirecTV to McDonald's?

I sure hope this is true but unfortunately I'm gonna have to put in my "believe it when I see it" category.
Still waiting for AMCHD like I had with Comcast .

Default This Makes Sense AndCents

Directv and McDonalds are corporations and are run by people who are CEO's and Presidents of their companies.
There is no difference when you look at it in that way.The public makes a company popular. And if the product is affordable to that public, that company does better bigger business

By the way Emil,
AMC HD will probably be here before you know it ,since the cable companies are in bed with Directv. We already have several COMCAST(which is a cable company) HD Sports channels on Directv.

Yes, but viewing this from the standpoint of public health, one can prematurely kill you over time while the other just kills your bank account.

Default Either Way,Youre Screwed.

McDonalds might kill you if you eat too much of it..I guess.. and watching too much DirecTV might make your eyes go bad or might rob you of your hard earned money or savings. Either way ,you're screwed.
Too much of anything is bad for you.

They are just making up for the Massive job loss = more folks canceling D* service

Less Subs have to pay more -Just like the few taxpayers that are left will have to PAY a lot more -Comming to the employed very soon.

I'll pay the price increase. Still cheaper than Comcast, who also raised their prices this year but unlike D* they haven't added any new channels in several months (except MLBN, SD only).
