I joined this forum to report my fix for the momentary blackout problems with the H10 receiver. I use the HDMI out for my DLP TV and was constantly getting blackouts for 3-5 second durations regularly for over a year now... but not anymore! Bottom line is this... The unit is susceptible to low line voltage conditions.

My wife noticed two days ago they occurred whenever the heatpump came on... I knew immediately what the problem was when she said that.

I just tonight installed a $19.95 (cheapest one I could find) battery backup from tiger direct between the receiver and the unit... and guess what .. NO MORE BLACK OUTS! Each time an appliance kicks on it mometarily draws down power and the unit goes black until the power returns to normal. The battery backup takes care of that problem as all 110v power is generated from the battery and the battery absorbs the low voltage condition from the line... a cheap power conditioner!

Try it...it works!
Did you hook this up through a surge protector?

Default HR10-250 & HDMI problems?

Seems I have a similar problem. Once in a while, my picture blacks out with both the video and audio on both HD and non HD channels? When called DTV just said they had never seen the problem?

I had the same problem with my Direct TV H20 receiver. I called several times, and they logged it. Then finally, while watching HD channels, I got sick of it blacking out on me and having to wait for the box to reset, I called them. They sent me a new H20 box and so far everything is okay.
