Default Question about Direct TV Sports Pack

I am thinking of getting direct tv and have a question about the premium channel called Sports Pack. When you look at the channels in Sports Pack it includes a number of the "Regional Sports Networks". If you subscribe to Sports Pack will you get all the "Regional Sports Networks" listed or will you still only get the "Regional Sports Network" based on your local geography? I live in Houston and we get Fox Sports Southwest. But I think it would be good to also get those other Regional Sports Networks listed if you actually do get them if you subscribe to Sports Pack.

You will get the regional sports networks in other regions but you will NOT get professional games outside your own network. Other stuff may also be blacked out

Yea, they blackout alot of games out of your area.

I tried Sports Pack for Pittsburgh (hoping to see pre-season Steelers games). Didn't get a single one even though D* said I would get those games.

Quit after 1 month, got a full refund of my 1 month fee.

Yea, same BS here. I live in the Dallas area and was told I would get the Yankees games on YES...but of course that was a bunch of bull.

Thanks all. Given the cost, the sports pack sounds like a piece of crap. I won't waste money on it.

It isn't if you love college sports, especially football and basketball. None of those are blacked out. And since I have the NBA League pass, I don't have to worry about those being blacked out on the various regional sports networks.

I sub to the sports pack during the NFL season to get the Redskins news on Sportsnite and Washington Post Live. Also the Redskins Postgame show is not blacked out but Redskins Kickoff before the games is....which really sucks. Cancelled sports pack this week since I'm disgusted with my Redskins.

I just cancelled Sports Pack last night and got Skinemax instead. tired of the blackouts, and with "only live games in HD" on most of them. alot of the blacked out stuff weren't even live games, it was re-runs of a recent game, a vintage game or a magazine / news show! 100-200 bucks a year per sport for live games? you gotta be crazy! total ripoff!
