Question DirecTV plus HD DVR

I am considering changing from DISH to DirecTV, due to unresolved tech problems with DISH HD, but have some unanswered DirecTV questions. (1) Can one HD DVR provide HDMI output connected to the HDTV, and also to a 2nd TV - standard 75-ohm, no HD, in a different room? (2) Does the HD DVR have a UHF remote (thru the walls)? With these capabilities, a DVR program could be viewed in one room, then continued in another room. Any other ideas on how to do this with one HD DVR receiver?

1) I don't think that's possible because the DirecTV HD DVRs only have one 1 HDMI port, but I have never tried it myself.
2) No, it's standard IR. Again, I don't think there's a way to do it, but I haven't experimented with this particular oddity.

I don't know if Goofnut understood your questions and I'm not sure if I do either but here is my interpretation

You can have the HDMI hooked up and both the component and/or composite cables also hooked up.

You can us a RF remote that will work through the walls. You could start a show in one room and continue it in another room, but unlike Dish you can't watch 2 different shows in the 2 rooms. The same show would be showing in both rooms.

It's pretty funny that the HD Goofnut admits they've never tried either of the 2 ideas but was sure it doesn't work that way.

Default DirecTV plus HD DVR

Thanks GforU - (1) I do have component connections on the 2nd TV, so it sounds like that will work. (2) That leaves the question of UHF. DirecTV said that they have UHF (thru the walls), but didn't sound sure.

Is there UHF for the HD DVR?

With Directv its not UHF, but they have RF remotes that will work through the walls.

Direct TC HDDVR does NOT have a rf output, only HDMI, Component & RCA.
You can get a rf modulator to mirror a 2nd tv.

He's not asking for an RF output, but for an RF remote that will work through walls.
