[quote=glennb1;718081......VH1-HD didn't just show up recently.
.....[/QUOTE] No, it didn't. But then again, VH1 has nearly no HD programming, so calling it an HD channel is more semantics than reality. And to the OP ... DirecTV is falling on its face on the national HD front. Despite press releases touting new HD's, they are clearly focusing on locals, ppvs, etc. Despite earlier proclaimations of certain channels coming soon, i.e. PBS, Travel, etc., still we wait. National HD seems to be a back-burner priority for the company. IMO, the "Undisputed Leader in HD" is fading a bit. Jeff |

Glennb1,
it might be more HD Directv has,but what the other posters in this forum are saying..most of the new HD channels are Pay per view HD and not National channels. You could say that Directv is giving us false information..or misrepresenting themselves by advertising having more HD channels than anyone.Apparently we are not getting the new HD channels we truly want...instead we're just getting "filler space" hd channels that don't mean a thing to most of us here. |

At a quick glance the list of channels they offer is impressive. But once you remove the movie channels and the regional sports that you don't get unless you have the sports pack the list is almost cut in half. I can see what the other posters mean.

Oh Glenn it's been a while since I've been back. Oh silly me, did I forget that VH1 is HD? I imagine you must have the ENTIRE HD channel listing taped to your remote. And you must have the premier package so you can watch all your "special channels". "Filler" is what companies put in their products to make it look more than what it actually contains. I'm interested in the channels I mentioned,(oh sorry about that VH1 thing, stupid me). I don't care about FSN NE or the sports packs or some of the movie channels I can't afford. Of course if the Toon Disney HD channel is your bag, I aint gonna say nothin
hehe. Oh.... sorry to all of ya who watch the fsn channels of you choice and I hope I didn't offend any of the kiddies who watch toon Disney. And Glenn, if all you can do is criticize people when they write on here, then write a book and stay off the site! |

More than 50% of Directv's HD Channel's are Sports.
there still many channels that would look and sound so mush better in 720p or 1080i even if they do not have HD Programs. like G4

A&E HD
ABC Family HD Animal Planet HD Biography Channel HD Bravo HD Cartoon Network CMT HD CNBC HD+ CNN HD Discovery Channel HD Disney Channel HD Food Network HD Fox Business Network HD Fuel TV HD FX HD HD Theater HDNet HDNet Movies HGTV-HD History Channel HD MGM HD Palladia HD MTV HD National Geographic HD Nick HD Planet Green HD Sci-Fi Channel HD Science Channel HD Smithsonian Channel HD Spike HD TBS in HD The 101 Network HD The Weather Channel HD TLC HD TNT HD Toon Disney HD Universal HD USA Network HD VH1 HD I took off the premium movie channels and everything that looked like a sports channel. There's still several good national HD channels left, not just Toon Disney HD. hehe ![]() Since some of you are so disappointed in DIRECTV's HD offering maybe you should switch to cable tv or DISH network or something and quite your whinning. |

Fox News HD is showing in the on-line guide today. My guess is there is a very good chance we will see it tomorrow. Satracer at DBS has been droping hints this week. But no one knows for sure.
