I have seen DirecTV's HD channels in 2 different homes, one with plasma the other with DLP, and they do not seem as sharp and bright as Comcast HD on my projection tv. I have read that satellite companies have to compress the HD signal more than cable...but who knows? Note that I didn't say DTV HD does not look good, but Comcast's look better. Of course DTV's digital channels look better than Comcast's.
I have Comcast HD, dual tuner HD DVR, HBO, cinemax, and pay $47 per month. So I can't complain about price Quote:

one should not be surprised at the behavior of dtv when you consider the source i.e newsgroup and murdock.they know that can get away with anything because they paid their friends at the nfl big bucks for their exclusivity contract
this may explain as well their failure to get espn owned by abc and fox to provide espn2 hd. why wasn't bandwidth a problem when they signed a contract in JANUARY? i noted today that dtv slimmed their "losses" by signing up a record number of subscribers.that's why they continue to deceive everyone on specifics, and i can't blame them, is "the bottom line" but anyone who defends them is either naive or doesn't really care. now that i finished my rant, i'd like to ask a question. what is the cost to a station or network when they choose to televise in hd? for instance, there must be a reason and of course it's money as well, but does anyone know how much? even the advertisers don't use hd. thanks |
