MLB Extra Innings Superfan Package
I just signed up for this today. Even though I am feeling that DTV is already charging users $10 a month for HD programming, that they have us subscribers that we will pay an additional $50 for the MLB season. Their mailing for the Superfan package states up to 40 games a week in HD with a few extra perks which is approx 1/2 the games shown on MLB Extra Innings. I really like to watch the Red Sox, but living in Az I have no choice but to pay the extra fees to DTV simply because they have me by my short ones. Never mind that DTV is already charging me $169 for MLB Extra Innings!

Baseball channel
Anyone have any news on the new baseball channel that was to begin this season that DTV promised to carry. Assume if it happens it will be similiar to the NFL, NBA, NHL channels.

The schedule is now up and I am rather impressed. Most the the games that they are carrying will also be shown in HD.

Just looking at the sked..GD FOX blackout rule on Sat afternoons really pisses me off. Also why is there only 1 game on Friday April 4?
Sorry about the hissy fit re the Sat blackout rule. |

I have no idea why Fox does this. Actually I do, they do not want national competition for local events. I would think their total ratings would increase if they allowed out of market viewers to choose other out of market games?

Couple comments.. first off, it was quite the surprise last year that yankee games were carried on WWOR, ch. 9 (for those of us in our 30's and above) my9 for the young bucks!! it was the first year EI carried "OTA" games for the yanks. I actually got to watch NY/NNJ news during a couple rain delays!!!
the fox-saturday thing blows!! funny how NBC allows all their national NHL games to be shown on the Center Ice package!! the friday april 4th schedule listing has got to be a mistake.. ALL teams are playing that day.. and not all are on local channels... we'll see!!! |
