Default Anyone else have sound dropping out?

I have noticed several channels on my lineup having sound drop out for 5 to 10 seconds. The largest culprit seems to be Fox, but a couple other channels have done this as well. Anyone else have this problem?

Not seeing the same here in the Boston area.

I get intermittent video interruptions with ESPN, but they're for less than a second.

Yes, it is a well known and documented problem with the HR20 when using HDMI. Everyone who is using HDMI has the problem as far as I know. Direct however ignores any real problems in their software upgrades including this one and only makes trivial changes to the look and feel no one really cares about. To get around it require you to back up 6 seconds from being live, and the problem will go away.

Very interesting. I've got an HR-21. Maybe that's why I'm not seeing these.

Both HR20s with HDMI for video and optical for sound drop out all the time and resets the dolby on the receiver. It does get annoying. I just flip up one channel and then go back and it clears up for a while. Happens on the OTA antennas also.

I get this on my HR21-700 when watching recordings of American Idol. I wondered if it's that way live or if it's my recording. I don't recall the drop on anything else recorded but it's very annoying during songs on the show. Haven't been able to catch it live to see if it's that way live or not.

I have had intermittent sound problems as well. Really upset me when I watched Lost the other night. It was recorded and half of the show there was sound problems. No weather problems either.

Call and continue to call your satellite provider with complaints until they resolve this problem. If we don't continue to call, they just won't fix it.

I have an HR20 and I get both a short audio outage and at times a video outage with ESPNHD only....and not at the same time...a little annoying at times.

Even more interesting - I noted this issue the evening after posting that my HR-21 didn't have an issue!

me too
'
having hr 21 installed tomorrow, move the 20 to the poker room

wasnt sure if i wanted to put the 21 in poker room or where, but sounds like the problem exists regardless

too bad (i.e. i want the best one in living room, where 20 is now, so will put new 21 in living room, but from this thread i can see i will still have the problem, didnt know about backing up 6 seconds, will try that but am suspicious that it will always work)
