Default Masters' Amen Corner D* exclusive coverage

This was posted on another forum so I thought I spread the word here. Amen Corner coverage will get it's very own channel on D*. They will have it's own camera crew and announcers specifically for this channel. It is a free feature, but no word if it will be braodcasted in HD, let's hope so.

This is great news. This Amen Corner coverage has been on the Internet Masters.org site for a couple of years and I have watched it sometimes. Be nice to see it at 52 inches instead of streaming video on monitor.

Might get a bit boring for other than a serious golf watcher!!!!!!

DIRECTV to Offer Masters Golf On 4 HD Screens
Each screen will offer a different view of the action.
By Swanni

Washington, D.C. (February 21, 2008) -- DIRECTV has announced that it will broadcast coverage of the 2008 Masters Golf Tournament in April on four different High-Definition channels.

The four channels will be part of DIRECTV's Masters Mix Channel, which will appear in high-def on channel 706. (The standard-def version will be on channel 701.) The expanded Masters coverage will be free to DIRECTV subscribers.

The Mix Channel shows four different screens at the same time, allowing DVR subscribers to go full-screen with any single view by clicking on that screen.

The first screen will be live coverage of the tournament from ESPN (rounds one and two) and CBS (rounds three and four); screen two will offer a continuously updating loop of the day's best shots; screen three will offer coverage of holes 11,12 and 13; and screen four will focus on holes 15 and 16.

“We are proud to be a part of the Masters tradition and have the opportunity to offer our customers expanded and enhanced coverage of what is already a special viewing experience for golf fans,” said DIRECTV CEO Chase Carey.

The Masters will run from April 10-13.
