Hi guys.. i am an old directv customer and i removed the service a while back. Later just couple of months ago i recieved an offer from directv that that i will be given the choice package for 29.99 for 12 months(for regular customer it's for 52.99). So i decided to go ahead and bought service.

now i hear about these new prices in this thread.

my query is that, will the prices on my package will also get change or will i have to pay the same amount what i am paying rite now, for the remainder of the deal which is 12 months???

Red face Not that bad

I'm not complaining at this point. My wife, daughter and I went to the movies Christmas Day. With tickets, soda, and popcorn it was over 40 bucks! One evening, one movie, a 20 mile drive. This is why I'm keeping Dtv. With our package we get; all channels available, a buttload of HD, DVR, a 2nd set. All this for a month at the cost of only three movies out. Whatever?

Negativity cuts both ways.

Reacting negatively to negativity is still negativity.

Unfortunately it seems too many of these arguments always come down to the fanboys versus the "they're ripoff artist" camp.

And ultimately in the free market place, we're free to pay or tell them to pound sand.

Raise prices when fewer people have the money and more people are having a hard time justifying the expense? It's that what they've "gotta do"?

Might be good for the next couple of quarterly earnings reports, but I'm not sure it's best for the business long-term, as many of the lost customers won't come back and it's a LOT more expensive to win a new customer than to retain an existing one.
