Amen. I'm friggin fed up as you will see from my other recent posts. Either this place get moderation or I'm going to take my ball and go to a better managed forum and click on their advertisers instead.

When I 'bumped' it, it was because I found the topic on Page 2. Didn't see it stuck here until afterwards.

It may have been a browser cache problem, because after I 'bumped', it was gone from the second page and then appeared as a sticky. Maybe it was "stuck' at the same time I was 'bumping'?

Default My god, it's full of stars...

Wow, This is turning out to be a little revealing as to the gullibility of the American Consumer.

So far 29% of us have drank heavily from the Kool-aid well and are hopelessly lost (or we’re being falsely over weighted by D* employees, who don’t have to spend a dime for ANY service.) I only wonder because this was running a steady 50/50 until just recently.

Just curious, from the following list, does anyone work for D*?

ans2004, ArtWIS, BANDB, bearzilla333, Birdieman30, Blackz06, borromini, breakahundred, bruceames, car421, Chris Gerhard, Chrispacwv, dcrews, dingodave1973, dlando71, DodgerKing, drbrosco, Drk, drock912001, dtrevathan, firsTraveler, garak, goodthang, Gothmogs, GregJAllison, HD newbie, hdtvjunkie, holtzd, IamMrDJ, itsamikey, jeanl99, jgilroy, jhlberlin, josephan, Lawsman, littlechris197, me_mo_mac, nomutthere, oskidunker, paakoridge, Racerbob, rhipps, roscoe93, Skidazl, skinny22, sledge42, Stompy, stonedog23, sugarshay, tabs31, tifosi77, TomLewandowski, truba11a, tumblingdice03, Twister, upnorth, Wareagle34, wasimmer, Yankees 27, yuppers519

Just looking for full disclosure. Agreeing to the “it’s a good deal” statement seems a little on the short bus side.

Slightly less disturbing is 23% of the Kool-aid drinkers with a bit of a conscience who will pay but know their being taken for a ride. I can only feel bad you.

The 13% of us that would buy the HD Extra Pack if they added more channels worry me because it would seem to encourage D* to add upcoming HD Channels to the Extra Pack rather than spreading them across the current Package structure but I have to commend you for your resistance above the Kool-aid drinkers.

To the 34% of us thus far that have firmly said “NO”, I consider you patriats and intelligent consumers. Being in this group myself I wonder about the reasons others have said “no”. Personally, Even though I want the Channels and could easily afford to add the Extra Pack to my service I refuse to do so as a matter of principle. D* clearly advertised several of these channels as default channels as part of signing up for HD access to begin with. I’m offended by the “bait and switch”.

Ok, I shouldn’t be here tonight being a bottle and a half into a very good Sangiovese from my favorite winery, so - Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all good night…

What is up with your condescending attitude? I have explained several times why I have no problem with what Direct is doing. Just because we do not agree with you does not mean we work for Direct nor does it mean that we are gullible.

I'm getting MHD, Smithsonian, etc., for free. I'm paying the $4.99 for the extra 80 channels.

I agree with the first part of your last sentence and because of that I will ignore your insults! Not connected to D* in any way other than being a subscriber.

No, I do not work for D*. It is my choice to get the extra channels for 4.99. I record at least 1 movie a week from MGM and watch Smithsonian quite a bit. I do not get any of the premium movie channels so I feel that this is a good deal.
Once again, if you don't want to pay then don't. You seem to feel that D* is somehow ripping you off and that is YOUR opinion.
I will say it again as I have said in previous posts that if last year D* came out and said that they were going to add 50+ HD channels to the current lineup of around 10 and only increase the price by $5.00 per month, most eveyone would jump at the offer.
Just another way to look at it. IMO

That's the fix, self delusion. I'm almost ready to buy now. I really am going to miss Smithsonian though. I'm still trying to figure out how it got in the pack. It doesn't seem to fit with the rest.

Sorry for the earlier rant, I was in a rare and altered mood.
