I paid the 9.99 for two years just to get my locals channels plus ESPN,HBO etc. in HD. I was not watching the HD-NET, DISCOVERY and Universal HD channels I want access to the HD world. I also paid this fee because I want to experiences the full capability of my 3k HD-TV otherwise it was just a big screen TV and a waste of money. I'm happy the channel we where ALREADY getting, are now dual broadcast in HD format(not many programs). However I'm not incline to pay the 5.00 increase in fees for these four channels
I can now utilize my TV in the way it was meant and my family can now watch the programs they want if they are broadcast in HD. We need access to HD not these channels. I happily pay the 9.99 HD access fee because I see real value for the dollars. Before October it was mainly to cover my ass in justifying to my wife (HONEY LOOK AT THE PRETTY PICTURE SEE IT IS WORTH )why I purchase this expensive TV with the small amount of real Hi def shows we use to get.

This is shaping up to be a very close race ... which kind of surprises me. About 50% so far will NOT be buying the HD Extra package (as it stands now.) I was expecting an overwhelming "Yes" just because a lot of us are 'HD hungry". Two years down the road, I would expect a landslide on the "no way" side, as more and more HD is available on standard (non-HD-only) channels. Interesting.

I'm not too surprised by the poll results so far. I think a lot of people don't like to voice their opinions, due to the number of people on here that are very confrontational. I limit my posts for that reason also. So you don't really get a good feel for the number of dis-satisfied DTV customers. That's why I think this poll is a GREAT idea.

I would encourage anyone that disagrees with D*’s decision to move HDNet, HDNet-Movies and the rest to an add-on HD Extra Pack to email a pithy comment or complaint to Mark Cuban at mcuban@hd.net , DirecTV at the link below and The Smithsonian Channel on the page below, there’s a link at the bottom of the page.

I'm not thrilled about the extra 4.99 for extra pack but I already signed up for it cause I'm addicted to the MGM channel and the Smithsonian channel.

This is only a forum. You will not be tracked down and confronted face to face if you voice your opinion. I have had my opinions laughed at and argued lots of times on Message Boards and Forums but that does not mean i shy away from speaking my mind. Stand up for yourself. If you do then other people might stand up to and support your opinion instead of sitting on the sideline letting everyone else get their point across.

Are there like...moderators on these forrums? Maybe they would have noticed this thread being bumped everyday and make it a sticky for the duration of the poll?

I suppose there's too many posts to moderate these forums so closely. Oh well...
