Hr-20 100 Or 700

I am purchasing am HR-20 and have the choice between a HR-100 or an HR-700... Both are silver.. Any opinions on which manufacturer (100 pr 700) is the best or trouble free?

You may be leasing it, as far as I know all of the HD DVR units are leased, but that seems to work out OK.

I think from what I have noticed here most people have pretty good luck with either one. You can search this site and find problems with both. But the vast majority of us have good luck and don't bother to post that. I have an HR20-100 that was installed about 3 months ago, no problems yet. Or I should say no problems that I haven't solved by rebooting it. The software isn't as user friendly or stable as the old TiVo units (HR10-250) but the HR20 is what's available and I can live with it. The HR20-100 is newer but I don't know if that is an advantage.

i have the 100 since july and not had one single problem with it. IT works just liked it is supposed to

The -700 currently gets the latest software updates first and has the better RF antenna. The -100 runs cooler and has both optical and coax audio outputs. Other than that, they are basically the same. The HR21-700 is the third HD-DVR model. It has a black case and does not have the OTA input.
