My Lord...such a heated argument over a small optional charge; emphasis on the word, optional. If you don't like the deal, don't buy into it! There's plenty of other HD content for you to watch beside HDNet and Smithonian.

Replica, eh? Don't think I've ever heard anyone called that before. No, no...I'm positive I've never heard anyone called that before. Some how, I think it's being used out of context, anyway.

Universal HD and MGM HD alone are worth the $5 to me; the rest will be a bonus.

I have been following these forums for a couple of months now and find it funny how just about every other day someone starts a new thread about the Price increase thinking that it is brand new news and we have never heard about it before.

5 Dollars more to have all of the HD Channels is not a bad deal to me at all. I have some friends that I converted over to D* and I mainly did it by showing them the list of HD Channels. They have heard the news about the extra $5 and are not worried about it because they know if they left D* they would be stuck with a lot less HD channels.

I can't believe that there's anyone here who didn't think there would be some kind of price increase for all this new content!

Well right now there are 5 channels in the HD only package. You don’t have to pay that price. We will have 100 channels total up after a few months and 50 more coming for a whopping ten bucks a month, Id say its worth that.

I would LOVE to pay $15 total for all of the new channels that have been added. But instead I pay even more overall than Directv subscribers because I am forced to have cable where I live.........

Just letting the people who complain about the higher prices know they can probably switch to cable, pay more, and have 5 times less HD content to watch like me!

I'm just glad I got my friend to sign on with D* so I can watch all of the football games.

nobody agrees wit u goto cable where there HD is free! lol obviously its free they have what 9 channels? seriously stop complaining over a $5 increase for almost 100 HD channels if directv increased it $20-$50 i could understand somebody complaining but $5 cmon are you serious? especially because directv could really take advantage of their HD monopoly (at the moment its a monopoly because nobody compares) but they aren't i respect them for that and everyone else should too

I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that the regional sports channels and pay per views are not national channels. They should just say 47 plus regional and pay per view. But, I am certainly not unhappy about all the new channels that have come out.

How are they not national? Aren't they able to be viewed nationwide?

I would like to see more channels like MGM and Smithsonian. Now those are trully spectacular HD channels that everyone can enjoy. Most of those pay per views and regionals are not watched by most people. I am glad that they came out with fsn west and fsn prime ticket, since I am a Laker and Dodger fan. Not that it really matters because they both suck. And I am also a Dolphin fan, so that makes me miserable all year long. Oh the mediocrity!!!!!! Please have compassion on me, all you sports fans!!!!

Don't feel bad. I'm partial to the Cubs, Bears and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Notre Dame looks like it will actually have a losing year.
